Instead of a former LB&SCR station possibly a former London & South Western Railway station? Canopy support designs were similar.
A clue from Mojo would helpful.

The correct station has something in common with Vauxhall, and you're still getting closer.

As nobody seems to be getting it, I will say that the similarity with Vauxhall is ticketing related.

Served by GTR but not managed by them
Something in common, ticketing wise, with Vauxhall
Much, much busier than Lewes, Haywards Heath, Loughborough Jcn, or Burton on Trent
