Ah, I was a few hours too late to guess that one!

TB, the new platform is the one I referred to as the up main. Are both platforms on that side of the triangle new, I am aware that at one point Leeds-Keighley DMUs reversed at the Bradford apex of the triangle, but I'm not sure whether they did it in both directions.

What used to happen at Shipley is there was only platform on that side of the triangle. When the main power was Class 101s and 110s with loco hauled on the S&C [\nostalgiamode] there was only one platform on the westbound line. Eastbound Skipton - Leeds trains would cross over just before the station and cross back over east of Shipley. I think the platform was built when the line was elecrified for the 307s.

I'm with Matt, the maroon mark 1s suggest a charter. I suspect it is the Carnforth set, as most others where in Intercity / the Pete Waternman LNWR livery after leaving blue and grey. Said charter rake tended to mainly work adex tye charters, but was used by A1A tours on crankexes, so I'll hazard a guess that it was on of those. Trouble is, it doesn't really eliminate many places.

None of those.

Yes it is a charter and it is a Carnforth set.

Time for a clue: These are Mk1 coaches. This location had a lot of Mk1s visit at the time of the picture but not this type. Can't remember the exact date but it was early 90s.

Lots of mark 1s but not of the type found on the tour. There were some mark 1 RBs lasted a long time on the Liv St-Norwichs, I'm not sure what the buffet was in the Carnforth set at the time. The other option is the lots of Mark 1a visting regularly were of the EMU variety.

Let's try Pompey Harbour, and hope there weren't any Pompey-Cardiffs at that time with mark 1s.

A further clue. The Mk1s were the 3rd Rail EMU flavour.

This is a loco hauled train at this location but loco hauled here are extremely rare.

3rd rail EMUs is all you see here.

Ashford International station just before rebuilding in the early 1990s

however if it is just 3rd rail emus then class 171 Turbo whatsits creep in from the Hastings direction so that possibly deletes Ashford..?
