Is it even in Scotland? It is a 31 after all. I had somewhere like Brundall in mind, but the curvature of the platforms is all wrong.

Looks like it might be a Cardiff Canton depot plate on the loco. Not that that necessarily means much if it was a railtour or an additional working.

I'm going to go against the Scottish guesses, rightly or wrongly, and say Ludlow.

I would listen to the Shipley thumper correspondent he speaks wise words. 31s did not go the Scotland very often and never as far north as some of the guesses. The type 2s that went up there had 2 less axles and were built by BRCW.

I am afraid the great steamy one has sold you a pup.

Still no correct guesses though.

We have to listen to a postie?

I'm still not going to suggest somewhere in England, but I shall change constituent area to Wales. Fairwater?

Goods delivery operative please.

Not Fairwater. Thinking about this I don't think many 31s would have been round the City Line.

I will keep checking in for the correct answer. I have another image of the same station which I will post as soon as I can after 1900, if it has not gone by then. I can't at present as I am on a Blackberry.

I'm guessing it is somewhere in the North West as the coal sub-sector 31s were outbased at Sellafield

Roby ?

You seem to be struggelling. Still no one correct but you are getting nearer.

This should give it away.

As promised same station different view.

Try this. Only the barest trace of the platform end, but this is somewhat of a 'celebrity' location, so someone will get it without doubt.

It's not Dovey Junction, and those lower quadrant signals definitely do have a foreign feel to them........

A kind comment. It is a good shot went out specifically for it and 47299.

Duff basher

Not Downpatrick, that would be breaking a rule that I've not yet dared to breach. Come on TB, you know where my picture was taken, or are you too busy fantasising about peds to care? You're not thinking hard enough.

Of course it's Limerick Junction. Best semaphores still in situ at a mainline location bar none.

I just wish to point out that NI was not allowed until the rules were changed after you posted an NI picture.

The rule in question was preserved lines. I've not done that (yet). Although given that this one is in the RoI, that's also a broken rule, albeit one I've broken several times already.

You appear to have as many photos of choppers on passenger trains in locations I can't identify as I have picture of thumpers, i.e. scores.

Re. duff bashing, you're from my era and can you confirm that my memory is not faulty when I recall that once upon a time 'duff basher' was about the most severe accusation one could level at another enthusiast? Something akin to 'chicken molester'?
