I’m enjoying the flora and fauna based guesswork! Though the foliage growing through the cracks in the platform has no bearing on the name of the station

This one is literally too ridiculous. OTOH some 'genius' did get the brick in the wall at Gravesend. Had he not done so, maybe we wouldn't have got any more of these ludicrous excesses. Still, I suppose I did put up the picture of the Hornby Dublo station.....

And that’s the slightly (only barely) less cropped image I’ve posted too.

I’ve got plenty of clues I can throw in later if everyone is well and truly stumped once the guessing hots up this evening, but for the next few hours I’m not ruling out that someone will identify the station just from that picture, as some of the regulars on this quiz seem to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of station architecture! I don't profess to have spent much of my time examining platform edges, but there must only be so many edged in that style...

Oh, and nope, not St. Keyne Wishing Well Halt (Such a large name for such a small station that one is)

A cracked edging slab is not 'station architecture'! I think the botanists amongst us will stand a better chance TBH.

Though it's probably enough for someone on here to identify the station by, if some of the previous entries are anything to go by! Perhaps a little horticultural knowledge would be useful, although I don't think that the type of "giant daisy" depicted here is indigenous to any one defining part of the UK.

Can I also ask why so many people have so many photos of stations without trains in them? Or have they started taking them since this thread came along? I certainly have done, but prior to this had never taken a picture of an empty platform, never mind a cracked slab or a brick. Don't normals look even more perplexed when you take such a picture than they do if you take a photo of a train?

I’ve got a couple of pictures of stations without trains in them where the station has had something particularly visually interesting to offer, but it’s only since the appearance of this thread that I’ve started taking bizarre pictures of bits of platform. Except for this one: The station was quiet and I was waiting around with little else to focus my attention on, and I liked the way the sun was backlighting the plant life growing up through the cracks in the platform, as well as having the rails and sleepers as a contrast in the background. The photo I’ve posted is one of the discarded experiments using different camera settings, but offers just a little bit more station detail than the final image I took.

I think I will throw in the first clue in an attempt to keep things moving along and narrow down the search:

This station is managed by one TOC, but only the trains of another TOC actually call there.

In my defence(?) I only posted the Gravesend wall because my Lumix was out of use at the time meaning I couldn't get the shot I wanted for this thread

A number of stations on the Cambrian have this type of coping stone but this does not fit with the clue given.

It does look as though it is on a mainline of some sort as the concrete sleepers look quite new and metal ones are generally used on secondary lines.
