I had a 957cc mk3 (firstcar age 17), reliable car, the body work rusted away though, resulting in scrapping the thing

That one wasn't too bad for reliability, but there wasn't really any build quality as such.
It was in remarkably good condition though, bought for £100 about 4 years ago, with only 27k on the clock, there were only a couple of little bits of rust, but nothing serious.
I recognise it but I can't put a name to it.

I wondered if it was a Honda Prelude, but I don't think their dashboard was actually digital.
i paid less for my mk3, had 9 months out of it.

you got it with your edit of the post i quoted as no.
My mrs's nissan has an identical dash, but without the ignition card, and a proper key. the pictures i use were the renault as it asks to "insert card" . Owned it for a few months, very impressed having gone from a skyline
