On our ‘welcome pack’ it says (Online) or (on-site) on a few bits, are you doing a mix of both online and on-site stuff or was that just your first week?

I found the two hand test, one of the easiest but I play a lot of computer games so that probably helped me.

I didn't go off the path at all. It was easy.

I found the comprehension test the hardest.

There’s up to 8 per course - there’s only 7 on ours - January course is 100% coastal which is unusual

The classroom course is broken down in to 6 modules - you get an evaluation at the end of each module to test your knowledge and help you along- then you have 6-12months with a driving instructor to learn the practical side and route learn.. then you do your ICA which is the week long test everyone works towards. Then hopefully you get your key and start taking trains!

I've heard you do a week learning the Thameslink driver pose when coming into stations (especially the core) - Right arm on desk with chin on hand, and looking completely bored!

You will have ample time and support to learn what you need to learn. Don't stress yourself out trying to get ahead as it were. It's all broken down into bite sized bits that will be tested as a whole at the end. By which time you'll be quoting the rule book in your sleep.
