Hi Mate,After passing stage 2 how long was the wait for DMI?

Yeah, I'm not sure if they've got 2 pots, one for mainline and one for depot, it appears they need both.

I only had to do the DFFT for GA and I think my DMI was around 2-3 months after that.
Yea I remember both being in there. I applied for mainline. Not been told anything different from latest emailsz
I know some have so don’t know how GA are working that out

They definitely need mainline drivers at Cambridge especially with the new pay deal. Also they will require quite a few depot drivers with the new role being created there.

Either role is a fantastic opportunity and Depot Driver just means it will take a little longer to get to mainline.
Im gonna guess that my November course will be for a few Cambridge Depot Drivers as well, I'm not sure if mainline would do the same course as Depot, then bolt on any extra bits at the end? The courses must be very similar as both roles end up with an EU licence, although the Depot Drivers licence will have restrictions.
Me personally, I think it'd be better to cut your teeth as a Depot Driver, build your underpinning knowledge and confidence, then it should make the transition to mainline a lot easier. That's just my thoughts.

I'm starting to worry a little now, seeing people get to next stage(s) ive passed the SJT but still waiting to here anything back? That was on the 4th July I found out I passed :/ GA by the way Clacton-on-Sea depot.

Yeah i get that, I just want out of the job im currently in, I lost my 3 year old son in Nov and want something closer to home but sitting in the unknown isnt helping my mental state right now lol

Unfortunately the railway isn’t your typical industry. Patience is one of the greatest values you can possess trying to get in, especially into a drivers role… if you’re lucky, months, worst case, years.

So sorry to hear of your loss, I can't imagine what that must feel like.
Re railway, the process is very slow and doesn't always lead anywhere. I have made numerous applications over the last few years, only recently being offered a job. You need to accept it may take you many attempts to get anywhere and not pin your hopes on one application. I have learnt to accept not progressing with every application. It's not an easy job to get into, there few jobs with many applicants. It's a very slow process with little communication at times. Not what you want to hear I'm sure but I'd say it's truthful.

Congratulations on the offer. I am going in tomorrow for my Stage 1, so did you do stage 2 on the same day....? If so, I may go a bit more formal.
I'm also going for Norwich Depot.

I did 1+2 together, then DFFT separately. Regardless of what you do, always dress smartly, you never know who's watching or who you'll meet.

Cambridge, did Stage 2 psychometrics and MMI. Got email last week saying I’d passed and they would be in touch but got another saying about the change in recruitment process and to reply to the email if I was interested in carrying on the application (which I did). Just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat waiting for a response or if they had already.

I have completed all the stage with different TOC and just completed DFFT with GA. And got mail that interview will be scheduled at a different date. I am in for Cambridge. But did not received the email.

Maybe you’re one of the lucky ones and can go straight to mainline without having to be a depot driver first
I think they missed me to send that email, which can happen at later stage.

Best of luck with the interview result- in my experience the DM interview is a much nicer experience all round- more chance to sell yourself.
