90002 made its way north to Crewe today for its exam. It'll be off to Toton in a few weeks for repaint before returning to Norwich.

90010 has been painted at Toton and should be heading back to Norwich within the next couple of days.

DVT 82107 (former NXEA Silver) went to Loughborough a week or two ago for works and repaint.

I've also been tipped to keep an eye on 317655 & 317658 which are both currently at Clacton. They should be moving back to Ilford within the next couple of days.

Any news yet on the repaint of 153314? Is it due to head off any time soon?

I've uploaded a photo below of 317655 in it's revised livery in Cambridge carriage sidings yesterday. (The quality isn't great as it was taken from a passing 170)

Looks good I think, any other thoughts?

Looks a lot better than the plain white that's for sure! It's a shame they don't bring the roof grey down to the orange stripe - looks a bit odd where it drops down at the ends.

Definitely an improvement though!

Possibly helped by the bigger grey band at the bottom of the body. It does look better.

Didn't 3 317/6s get the new interiors under NXEA? Are all of them going to receive this livery? Hopefully the AGA 317/7s get this livery too :) It looks great BTW

So that is the proper livery, same as the hauled sets? So the fully white with red doors the 321's have may change in future? I'd love to see a 321 in that 317 livery.

In fact i'd love to see the 360's in the livery. They deserve a change along with an interior refresh.

Just a quick update seen as no one else has done one yet:
- 12118 returned from Wolverton today. 12118 was hauled by DRS 68004 & is now in AbellioGreaterAnglia colours.
- 90002 has returned from an overhaul, but is unpainted yet (Still in One livery). 90011 has believed to have already departed for an overhaul & repaint.
- DVT 82118 has gone for repaint & overhaul now that 82107 has returned (82107 now in AbellioGreaterAnglia livery)
- 12150 & 11067 are the latest MK3 coaches to transfer to Wolverton for their repaint into AbellioGreaterAnglia livery. Expect they'll return in a matter of weeks?

Believe that's everything?!

Are all 153s in the new livery or is there one still in 'one' livery if so be interesting if this returns in the latest more complete AGA livery

The ex fully National Express liveried 317/321 units look strange with the new branding as at one end it is squashed up against the grey swoosh

The shipwrecked Scud is still in 'one' livery.

Does anyone know what the latest is on 153314? Must have been at Wolverton for almost two months now, can't imagine it will be there much longer?

Once it returns are there any plan for a 170 repaint/refurb or is that still uncertain?

Heres hoping they'll add the same accompaniments as a couple of 317's got, grey and black stripes to finish the livery off. I guess its like whats on the anglia intercity stock applied to a EMU. I really can't understand why they haven't painted the doors on the white/blue doors trains. Would really help a sense of cohesion amongst the fleet!

The 170's need it so badly, and a bit of attention inside to stop them rattling and giving everyone a headache.

They've been doing that almost since new haven't they?

I cant remember it in the early days, don't travel on them that often so could well be.

The last few times I've been on one they have seemed a bit sorry looking though!

I used to travel on 170s periodically from Shenfield to Chelmsford or back, in the days when they ran through services to Peterborough and Lowestoft, and I remember it often (but admittedly not always) being a problem, usually at intermediate engine speeds (e.g. lower power setting once reaching the intended speed)

Notch 2 usually makes for an unpleasant travelling experience. Only use it when I'm peed off.

There hasn't been no updates here, so has this dicusssion ended? :)

If the discussion is continuing, I may as well mention that 379013 is on the Harwich branch this week for tests of its new lithium battery. Hasn't seem to prove too reliable?

In addition to this, 5919 & 5971 are two additional MK2 coaches on loan from DirectRailServices, bringing the number to 7 that are on hire to AbellioGreaterAnglia (5919, 5921, 5971 5995, 6001, 6008 & 9525). All but 5921 are in DRS livery (5921 is Anglia Railways livery).

As you may know, also on loan is the Pretendolino: 82126, 11048, 11018, 11007, 10212, 12138, 12122, 12133, 12078, 12011. All carriages in Virgin Livery.

Also since the last post on here, 153314 returned in AbellioGreaterAnglia Livery. All 153/156s are therefore in this white Livery with red doors.

314 is different to the other scuds though. For reasons known to no-one they have painted every surface they can find brilliant white and fitted ultra-bright LEDs so its almost uncomfortably bright in there. Also a thick random bit of perspex on the luggage rack a a new blue toilet seat!

Do they actually need / use that many mk2's?

Looking forward to (hopefully) finally seeing the 170's get some love this year.
