What's in the 'staff only' cupboard? would be a bit weird if it was just the old toilet but blocked off.

I believe they had to remove one toilet per coach to install the equipment needed for the plug sockets

Electrical equipment now in here. Unfortunately watering pipes where strangely not removed during work. Guess what happened when cleaners attached hose on first day in traffic

With confirmation Greater Anglia will keep five 317/8s and all 317/5s any pics of 317506 in the greater anglia livery?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
317501 317506/507 all in full greater anglia livery.... Unclear if changed internally

The East anglia blog says these are heading to Overground but my understanding is Overground will get 317/7 and 317/8 units

The blog is wrong. Go with what's said in the franchise prospectus. Everything before was guess work.

Perhaps but without wishing to start any anti-AGA vibe, the biggest thing making them ugly at the moment is the grime, especially the stains leading down from the pantograph well. When clean, the old units are not going to seem quite so unattractive.

Certainly the truth. Seems 379s are being treated to a clean so hopefully it will spread to all of their units. External cleanliness is often overlooked and it winds me up big time. There is obviously an accepted level as they're trains but I think we're beyond that with most!

This, which is from the DfT and is more recent says that LO West Anglia (plus Romford Shuttle!) will get 17 Class 315, 8 317/7 (so not the demonstrator) and 7 317/8

Will the 360s get new carpets and a new livery or just seat covers

Look a right clash if the carpet isn't replaced ..

My sincere apologies for feeding out false info (which has since been corrected). I will try my best to ensure this doesn't happen again! :)

They've cheaped out on the lighting.

One single row of longitudinal tubes.

Also how did VT manage to sort out sockets on the Pretendolino without losing one of the toilets, yet GA can't?

With the details regarding the LO 317 fleet, that'll mean GA will have:
24 317/6
15 317/5
5 317/8

Plus possibly 317722

Quite surprised at that, as it makes the rest - from videos and pictures I've seen look rather shadowy. It also looks like a similar type to that used in the 156s.

Also surprised to see the IC70s retained - I thought they were going? And what is up with the old Virgin style maroon/grey carpet?

Overall, better than the awful NX condition, but could be much better.

I really like it, looks like a Chiltern Mainline coach inside. Much better than the mess NX made of the original refurb.

This is correct. As I understand it, AGA will keep 317722 as it is on a different lease agreement, but after that (2016?) Angel will be free to lease it to whoever wants to test the new traction package (I have heard Northern as a maybe).

I thought it was getting LED lighting?

The original set up of tubes was ridiculous, so many tubes just for each carriage! Plus GA couldnt eb bothered to change them so usually 1/3 were blown and another 1/3 were a different shade of white to the final 1/3.

It's because of CET retention tanks. Cannot do it the other end due to air-con equipment. Pretendolino still dumps the waste.

Which routes are the west anglia 315 and 317 currently used on?

Class 379s are of course used on Stansted Express duties but also make it to Cambridge
The 317/6 is presumably Cambridge to London
317/5 and /8 mostly Hertford East and Chingford Cheshunt and Enfield town shared with 315s?

Is it only GA 170s which go to Peterborough

Yeah, only 170s (occasionally deputised by 156s) work AGA trains to Peterborough, Ely to PBO is not electrified. Speaking of which AGA seems to have "repainted" one of them ;)

Believe 315s are used on Metro Services only, as well as Romford to Upminster branch sometimes too :)

But then Crown Point has not got facilities yet to dispose of CET waste?

Apart from all the facilities to empty the 156 and 170 fleet CET tanks correct, there are no facilities to empty CET tanks at Crown Point...

Didn't realise they did retention toilets as well. That's quite an upgrade then... That said, didn't DB do retention toilets and at seat sockets for Wrexham and Shropshire? IIRC they kept a toilet at each end of the coach until they got new doors after they went to Chiltern.

379s form quite a lot of services to Cambridge. As far as I can tell, each day there's basically 9 two-unit formations on Stansted Express (18 units) and 9 units on Cambridge services- at peak time as 3 three unit (12 car) formations.
The 317/6 is presumably Cambridge to London
317/5 and /8 mostly Hertford East and Chingford Cheshunt and Enfield town shared with 315s?
there seems to be no attempt at all to put the 317 subclasses on any specific services- it's very common to get the /5s and /8s at Cambridge. Not sure if 315s go to Hertford much?

Well it isn't going to be any of the EMUs! GA DMU services through Ely and to Cambridge are all supposed to be almost entirely 170 operated, though the Cambridge-Ipswich service will substituted with other stock ong before the Ipswich-Peterborough or Cambridge-Norwich services.

I cannot comment on WSMR for sure but would be very surprised if they where & would be intreagued as to how they got around the issue below deck so to speak. AGAs first refurbed are not yet operating with tanks due to a weight issue with the tanks that I think has now been resolved.

Of course they do, they've had the 170s for 15 years!

CET equipment has now been fitted on 1A road (part of the old Wensum Curve) after initial plans to fit it at Victoria Sidings fell through due to driver & other practical issues.

Where on earth did you get that mis-information from?

Read on the AGA website a few months ago - http://www.abelliogreateranglia.co....ficant-upgrades-for-customers-and-communities (Point 8). £2 million from Network Rail, and I thought this was so install it for MK3s

Sorry, I know - meant for the MK3s, not the 170s. I should've said.

Ah, Thanks very much! :) That's what I was implying, sorry for not stating :)
