Nope. I still can't say I'm impressed. The gWr sticker in the matt band just exaggerates how bland the matt band is and still doesn't give it a purpose. The next thing I find bizarre is the deliberate disconnection from First & the soon to be former First Great Western - but then receives a slightly excessive 'A First Group Company' on the silver band and 'Operated by First Group' by the sole bar. Then the Cornish translation, don't get me wrong I love the county, it's landscapes and it's history but I have to ask Why? Adding Bi Lingual notices to rolling stock operated by Arriva Trains Wales and ScotRail I can understand because there are areas of each country which still either speak Welsh or Scottish Gaelic. But Cornish? A language where 4 years ago a survey revealed that only 557 people spoke the language, with only 467 of them living in Cornwall. It just seems like they are trying to overcomplicate their already simple livery.
Note that the new Caledonian Sleeper isn't Bi Lingual despite serving a much larger Gaelic speaking areas - although it does offer information in several different languages including Gaelic.
I will say one thing for it though - It's showing up the scratches and dirt very well already. And who, thought it was a good idea to paint the 166s roof with Matt Black? Because a black roof will work wonders for a train renown for having poor air conditioning...
