Been back for a while, apparently it *almost* did an EXD-HON working, but they got a 159 in.

If that's the day I think, it did a EXD to EXC trip to provide a connection Onto the SWT unit which was terminating short at central.

153305 has headed south in a base two-tone grey livery; presumably the vinyls are to be applied at SPM.

I don't think they will as I believe the decision to paint in the old RR Livery is because the DFT can't make up their minds where GWR 153s will finish up.

It won't be fine or London Midland because the 153 won't be released before Govia's London Midland franchise ends.

Much more likely to be just standard GwR stickers.

Thanks,
Ross

I'm confused? As some of the 153s are supposed to be leaving the GW Franchise over time to replace the 150s at LM. Therefore a simple White / Grey ''Mutual'' livery works quite well in this situation as the grey doors suit both GWR & LM, Even if the 153s may never carry either's branding - cascade / future franchise dependent, even if it's a dull livery!

As previously posted by people who know what is happening, that 305 is in a neutral livery because it wont be staying with GWR for long.

To support that, I was under the impression that GWR were keeping their 5 Porterbrook owned 153s (153325/329/333/361/369). As 153305 is an Angel unit, putting it into a neutral livery does make sense.

Indeed so. Although in my opinion it does seem a little odd keeping the Porterbrook units, as those 5 are of a mix standard compared to the ex Wessex Trains Angel units. For example, 153325/329/333/369 are all ex Central / LM Cast offs, 153361 is the ex FNW / Northern Rail / ATW cast off unit - In fact it's had so many new depots, the panel behind the gaurds panel is full of railway staff based vandalism!

I suppose it's one of those decisions based on the fact that the 153s are ultimately facing the Axe from the GW franchise anyway.

I've forgotten the name of it, but the door control panel in the vestibule has all sorts of random graffiti drawn inside it - mostly ex Newton Heath from memory.

If it's anything like a 185 then it's a GOP - Guard's Operating Panel

43198 in FGW Blue was on the back of a lorry at the South end of Doncaster Works this afternoon

It's there as part of the trailer refurb/power doors project - 43194 is already there. Like 194, it won't be blue when it comes out!

But not the same colour as 153305, I presume. This escaped to the West of England today and should be at Exeter tonight.<D<D
