4th Service confirmed for Mon... But the fares section on the website says that the peak fares apply to the first Up and the last Down trains of the day. I thought that the 19.19 back would be classed as `off-peak'

I would have thought that the 19.19 is off-peak. Anyone from our friendly GC sources care to comment?

The website has now clarified this and the higher fares apply to the 16.50, which I suspect may become rather quiet.

105 will go to wolverton for refresh etc once 114 arrives in september
On monday,180112 will be used on the new service from sunderland at 0918 and return on 1650,yours truly at the helm on the 1650 all being well !!

Yes, it goes to Ferme Park I believe to sit around (or be repaired?!) for a few hours.

I have no idea how the train crew diagramming will work, clearly the same crew can't work it I heard that something is happening along the lines of some crew are being required to work at Kings Cross between trains or something?

The 180s wont be working the new service. if I remember correctly, the 180 will work the new service off sunderland, but work the 1650 back, with the HST operating the 1918

I would assume that the crew from the 1230 would get off the HST and go to the class 180 service up the East Coast railroad to sunderland?

CORRECT !! The crew from 1A61(09.18 SUN -KGX)will work 1N28(16.50 KGX - SUN),crew off 1A62 will work 1N29(19.18 KGX - SUN),Drivers diagrams are slightly different

THe 1918 is a HST?! Are you sure? If so it is great news for bashers! I understand the crews stay in London but it makes no sense for the trains to swap as it means more ECS moves surely? I would be happy if it is true though...

So at about 1615 the driver of the 1605 arrival heads off to Ferme Park. Meanwhile, the driver of the 1650 has to already be in London to take the Adelante from Ferme Park at approximately the same time to King's Cross. Is this really what's going to happen?

Grand Central is also introducing Class 180 trains, which have a different configuration to the existing High Speed Trains. These are planned to operate the 9:18 service from Sunderland returning as the 16:50 train from Kings Cross. Initially the Class 180 trains will be without onboard Wi-Fi and power points, but it is anticipated these will be available late September.

Thats what will be happening,1605 arrival is taken to ferme park by driver who worked previous nights 1A63(lodge turn).Driver who worked the 0918 to Kx takes 180 to ferme park and brings it back for 1650,driver off 1605 arrival works the 1650 with the 180,ecs driver lodges for 1N25 the next day !!! Got that

Does this mean that the 1650 can depart on time if the 1605 arrival is late? as it'll have a driver and a guard... but possibly without catering? if so that will help ensure the service is still on time in the event of ECML disruption.

Is it the same on Saturdays as weekdays?

Just think. You book on the lovely 1918, and think great, Off Peak and some lovely Valentas. Heading into the station and see some crap 180 device there idling away and you think "Oh For ****'s Sake!". Same with all of GC's Trains now, but seen as this one was being celebrated I picked this one

Been there done that with FGW before. That was dreadfully annoying!

I reckon there will be a lot of vices in the next few months. I only hope it doesn't happen to me! The one 180 vice HST I had once was my share of it!
