Can you put it in plain english what they actually wanted GC to do? The statement sounds like a title to an extensive document rather than something to do.

Have noted a vast increase in the "On Time" arrivals at station stops in the last week or two, whereas the Durham coast stations in particular often showed various delays of anything up to about 8-10 minutes even when running pretty smoothly. Has the timetable been adjusted to be more realistic, or is there another reason for this?

Also, are GC running with just 4 PCs now or are the last two back from Brush?

You can go via Askern while NXEC just sit in platforms while they wait a few hours for route conductors as just a handful of Leeds drivers know the route :roll:

They can't cos the line is blocked through Doncaster, so anything coming down through Shaftholme Jn would still get caught anyway.

Of course, if they signed down Pontefract, reverse at Sheffield and get back on the ECML at Retford!

The problem at the moment is that the freight has derailed across South Yorkshire Jncs, which are at the south end of the platforms (and the crossovers)... Im also guessing that the rear of the train is blocking the route into P1 from the North, otherwise you could instigate SLW and get round it that way

Nope! ran right through. Derailment was at Marshgate Jcns, on the entrance to the yard behind the station. one 66 with its front wheels in the dirt, having come off on a set of points

1N25 did terminate at Retford.

GC then ran 1G25 RET-KGX stopping at RET/NNG/GRA/PBO.
Then they ran 1G62 KGX-YRK Non-Stop.

1G62 was incredibly late due to conflict in the VSTP path causing resulting delay to 1A62 which started from York, and I believe 1N28 ran late of KGX too, but from arrival of 1A62 to departure of 1N28 was very impressive!

We followed a stopper from York into KGX, if we had been able to get past then we'd have been back out before 1700... As it was we got in at 1700, and we decided to have a short break before heading home

Had my first GC experience today and really enjoyed it.
Left Sunderland 5 down but that was due to a late arrival after disruption at Peterborough and a slow turnaround because of regular metro services, but apart from that, no problems.
I was welcomed by the female guard even using my ranger and also found another bloke really friendly who did the doors at Northallerton.
Makes me wonder though, did i see Sir Clagalot or BOSCH today?

Are NXEC getting a bit 'touchy' then about the Ranger tickets.
It's great news that GC are accepting ranger tickets now.

I've got more excuses now than ever to try GC out once and for all :grin:

The guard on one NXEC service was a bit determined that the tyne tees day ranger wasnt valid until i showed her the leaflet.
I had also heard stories of people having problems with it at the barriers at Darlington but the RP were out yesterday and they were fine.
All you have to do with GC is show common courtesy and make sure before you board and they should be fine.
I say this because I asked the guard who arrived on the inbound from the cross and he wasnt sure and that I should ask the next guard on duty after the train turned around.

so just to clarify, do gc now have their full service back in operation? What was done to sort the power cars, have they been mtu'd? also are they still waiting for carriages to be finished and any more power cars to come? if someone could put a list together of what rolling stock gc have and dont have that would be much appreciated.

Don't panic! They are still Valentas!! Still awaiting 3 coaches (dont know why!), and all 6 PCs should be available...
Nope, the GC Bosch is not that person!

GC set south of Donny ran today, I took it back to KGX then formed the 1820 (1830 in the end!) back to Sunderland, and we went main line donny-york as they had fixed it. Cheers NXEC...

Eventually yes (as it was one of their trains which caused it all...) As did we (with NXEC tickets) coming back from London yesterday evening. Would have had more but didnt have enough time to allow them to board.

Question for Bosch/Sir Clagalot:

Please will you tell me how much one of the newer GC off-peak returns between York and Sunderland will cost, unless it's just the fares to/from London which have changed?

I'm seriously wanting to use GC, especially now the services are running.. A York-Sunderland-Kings Cross, and perhaps even back to York would be great..

Do you do weekend first?

I want to travel on a weekday, but if i could get an off-peak return on a Saturday, and use them on one of the week-day "peak" services, that would be good.

We dont do a weekend first, and York - Sunderland return is £16. Railcard discount may be applicable to it. (not sure as no one has asked me for that ticket with railcard yet!)
