Perhaps they could replace the pricing manager. They'd probably do a better job (well they couldn't do any worse!) ;)

Instead of knocking them about tickets on here, why dont you put your money where your mouth is and pop along to River House and offer your services, tell them IN PERSON exactly where they are going wrong after all you do proclaim to be the resident ticketing expert on here dont you !! ;)

As for Wensley & GNERman, good luck and enjoy your work experience lads, ignore the **** takers and hopefully in the future who knows what will happen eh !! ;)

Thank you Bosch. I'm sure River House would gladly take up your services :D
We are most certainly enjoying our week (London tomorrow) and it is definately getting a bit of a look in as, as you say, you never know where it may lead.

Watch this space regards 1A60 being an HST on friday,43123 was dead this afternoon on 1A62 due to a knackered starter motor,43065/67 are due out at some point this week but are taking 2 vehicles to craigentinny for tyre turning first but obviously 43123's situation may determiner otherwise !! ;)

Yeh, 43123 back on on 1N28 but not sounding too healthy. Fleet manager says '123 and '084 MUST work 1A60 today but '065 is spare at Heaton following cylinder liner repairs so may be able to join the set...

43065 produced yesterday on 1A60, replacing 123.

If the diagrams stick, 43065 + 43084 *should* do 1A60 tomorrow, and 180105*should* do 1N25.

A good place to check what is allocated on GC diagrams (at least in relation to if any valenta power is to be had) is www.hstgen.co.uk :D

LOTS OF NEWS TODAY

Train Cancellations due to deffective 180s
180107 & 180114 on repair at Heaton T&RSMD

1A61 0918 SUNDRLND - KINGSX 1249 CANCELLED
1N28 1650 KINGSX - SUNDRLND 2037 CANCELLED

180101 - 1A71, 1D73, 1A75, 1N29
180105 - 1A60, 1N26, 1A63
180107 - DEFECTIVE, HTONTMD
180112 - 1A73, 1D75, 5Zxx, 1D77
180114 - DEFECTIVE, HTONTMD

In order to get 180101 in the correct position at Heaton tonight trains have been moved around as follows:

> 180101 is to form 1N29 (conveying passengers from CANCELLED 1N28). Departure has been re-timed to 1948 and this train will also convey Bradford passengers.
> Bradford crew and Sunderland crew will work the re-timed 1N29 to Doncaster where a special request is booked.
> Bradford passengers will be set down at Doncaster
> 1N29 will continue to SUNDRLND
> 180112 will return to Doncaster ECS having worked 1D75 earlier today. Crew and passengers will join the train at Doncaster and the set will work forward in the path of 1D77

Due to the lack of servicable sets the 1A73 / 1D75 diagram WILL NOT RUN as things stand at 1915hrs 22nd Jul 2010.

HST ('065 and '084) in place for 1A60 0641 SUNDRLND - KINGSX 1031

Mr B, I shall be on A63 tomorrow from SUN-NTR, bring on the HST <D

Off topic...but I am red/green colour blind...lucky for the world I am not a loco driver, though in 40 years of driving etc etc (lousy at snooker too!)

However I tried to log onto the HST site and their validation code is impossible to read...do you think that they are trying to preclude colour-blind HST fans?

If you can tell me the times of 1A63 through York on Friday i will not care...they can go fly a kite...bah:p

Didn't think they had enough stock for all those extras. What happens if the 180s go pop again?

It will have to be taken as it comes - problems can only be dealt with if they arise. 180101/5/12/14 are available as are 43065/84. 43123 is spare and repairs to the cooler group on '067 should now be nearing completion. A second HST may be the answer <D

Did they just beat Northern into bidding for the paths or are Northern applying there usual 'if it's outside our preferred patch (Manchester&Yorkshire) We aren't interested?' mentality?

Looking at the extras, it would appear no additional stock is actually required - the extra evening trains will, I expect, be operated using the rolling stock which terminates at Sunderland earlier that evening.

Is there any truth in the rumour I heard that Grand Central are planning on running 100% of their regular services any time in the near future?

Expansion to World domination comes before regular services

Northern are putting extra carriages onto their trains anyway, and on Sundays there is the twice daily Hartlepool - Darlington services as well.

I've heard that East Coast were successful in their complaint that GC were getting too much money allocated through ORCATS...does anyone have any detail on this?

Does it dent GC's business model?
Is it linked to the recent fare rises and claims of refusal (or reluctance) to accept Rovers & Rangers?

Mmm...Surely it would be a bit odd that a government (now Tory) run train service is complaining about a Tory inspired private operator (GC) activities?

The whole point of privatisation was to admit serious players (viz GC) and they have proved themselves worthy...it seems to me, so how can a govt. run op. object? doh!
