GR route learning / retention

A quick one - when GR run route learning/retention light loco moves (such as this one), do they 'borrow' a loco from one of the FOCs or run a Class 43 by itself? Presuming the former, but does that mean they have to have a secondman to provide traction knowledge?

They won't be using a Class 43 that's for sure!

I imagine they'll use a freight locomotive (Class 67).

FGW/GWR run them empty for route learning

Normally they'll just use passenger services for new drivers.

Or for diversions it'll vary but very rarely will they use an empty HST. Normally a unit or a 57.

It'll be a 67. Sometimes one they hire anyway as the Thunderbird, if not then an additional DBC hire in.

Thanks. Thought it might be. So do their drivers also have 67's on their cards, or does a DBS guy sit in?

I seem to recall top links sign 67s and tend to be those signing the diversionary routes too.
