alright thanks for that! i don't spose there is a speedometer or something I can get the speed on while on a train? i've been collecting a list of linespeeds so i'm trying to add more![]()

You can buy bluetooth GPS thingies for about £30 - £40 off Amazon if you havnt got a GPS phone. If you stick your GPS in the window you can see Yourself fly along in Google Earth.
Depends on what you expect from a GPS. I own one for my other interest (Geocaching) and a simple unit like a Garmin Etrex 'H' is ideal for my needs. You can get one of these for about £70 and it maintains satellite signas in deep woods and even ravines! So great for railway cuttings but not so good for tunnels. If its to be used for a specific purpose associated with the rail system, then I think you may need something specialised.
