I agree that's a really smart livery. I think the colours blend together really well
I dislike the block yellow over first class and I think there's a red block further down. Aside from that, it's classy.

Agree 100%. I guess the red is to indicate the wheelchair space, so perhaps the block (rather than an old-school line just below the roofline) is to make it a bit more obvious. It does look a bit untidy though, and I'm sure it goes above and beyond what's required for PRM-TSI compliance. Good to see a new livery that isn't mostly white/grey for a change!

A stripe above and below the window would have looked better than the block, given the way the ribbon glazing affects it.

I'm going back a very long time, I liked the livery that 86214 Sans Pareil & 86235 Novelty had for the Rocket 150 celebrations..

I think the new "Northern Electrics" livery on the 319s is a big improvement on the regular Northern livery:

While I'd say Northern Electrics livery is better than the fairly ghastly standard Northern colours, for me it's still not great. Maybe the dark blue would sit better if it was separated from the purple by a stripe in the same lilac colour that surrounds the doors. As it is, to me it clashes quite badly.
The front ends don't look great in the dark blue either, IMO. More yellow and black window surrounds would be my choice.
One livery I forgot to mention was the South Eastern Trains yellow, black and grey which one of the 508s got. Maybe against other liveries it's nothing too special, but compared with the Connex livery and all its ingrained dirt, it was a massive improvement!

GNER was one of best, it was for trains, not buses. As alot of liveries where planned for buses.

I agree. I think it would have been better to perhaps separate the dark blue and purple with a white stripe so at least then they'd blend better than they do at the moment. I don't think the dark blue sits very well without having a stripe between it and the purple as a colour separator - a very thin stripe can make so much difference to a livery in my opinion
Even so as you say - it is an improvement on the standard Northern Rail livery which in my view clashes really badly
I quite like that livery too. Very smart and it certainly stands out

Yes, that's a really nice one. The Southeastern one on the 507s is OK too.

I was quite fond of NWT gold star, and I'd like to have seen it applied to 101s and 305/309s. I'd agree with the sentiment that whilst standard Northern livery is a bit busy, some of the more recent variations are nice. In particular the 319 livery and the plain navy blue of the 322s. The e144 livery looks good apart from the silly purple "smile" that disrupts the yellow warning panel.

I'm surprised to see so little affection for Northern Rail livery, specifically the standard scheme. I think it's quite pleasing, very understated. Makes me think of how an updated form of the Provincial "Railbus" livery might have looked.
I also like the subtle variation you get with the area specific West Yorkshire Metro and Northern Electrics schemes: Not as colourful and brash as the old PTE liveries, which really added some local variety and sense of identity, but sufficiently different.

Gosh, I'm not sure how I overlooked that one. It certainly was striking, and in photos it seems that a good effort was made to keep the livery clean while National Power was the operator.

That was another good one. It seemed to me that it borrowed heavily from the Roundel designed Trainload freight template, with a dash of Loadhaul influence thrown in.

I really like the colour (and it works well on the 319 livery), but the stripes go the wrong way and look a bit much like a bus livery from the late 1980s.
