There was also a poorly publicised fares rise less than 6 months ago. Prior to that the Day Town Zone ticket was £2.50 and the Cornwall Day ticket was £5. With the next rises that's a 60% and 50% rise respectively in less than six months.For Cornwall tickets that is a one third increase for monthly tickets from £90 for a monthly ticket to £120 for a 4-weekly ticket and the five days of tickets its a 50% increase from £25 to £37.50. For town tickets, 5 days increase from £14 to £22.50 (61%).
They may seem small changes but these are huge, particularly if the £2 fare is withdrawn.
I think the main issue is that the funding for the fares pilot has or is about to run out. If the £2 fare cap is not extended expect some eye-watering single and return fare rises.
