Glasgow vs Edinburgh who's for capital?

Neither Edinburgh nor Glasgow should be the Capital of Scotland....obviously it should be Falkirk
Seriously Edinburgh has The Parliament, The Courts, The National Museums and Art Galleries never mind the Castle and Holyrood Palace. It is the cultural centre of Scotland.
You only have to look at passenger figures at the relative Airports - Edinburgh despite its lower population trounces Glasgow indicating where most visitors are heading for.
Apart from The Burrell Collection and Transport Museum what else of note is available in Glasgow ?
This suggestion is as ludicrous as making Manchester or Liverpool the capital of England.

To put it mildly Edinburgh can be capital if it wants quite frankly we in Glasgow don't care the slightest as we live in a far better place in fact the only good thing to come out of Edinburgh is the railway line or M8 to Glasgow! lol!

St David's has a population of only 2,000
On the subject of capitals though, from a religious perspective it - not Cardiff - is the capital of Wales.
Speaking of which, I don't believe I've ever heard anyone in Colchester saying that they have an historic right to the title of capital city - only the oldest recorded town in the country (itself a debatable claim).
Also, Wells has a population of only 11,000 - but data I've seen indicates this is larger than London, even though it was claimed above that London's population is 12,000, as I seem to recall seeing London had a population of only 7,000...

Glasgow is all very well as a place to go and do stuff, but personally I just find it really unappealing as a place to actually live.

As for the safe bit, I was mugged in Lothian Road when I lived in the city in the late 80's never had so much as a verbal threat in Glasgow!

I never said that, just that my personal experience was being attacked in Edinburgh having never had the same happen to me in Glasgow.
Also stats change yearly and what might be the worst this year may not be next year and I have my doubts that Glasgow is the current European capital for all your headings.
Glasgow does indeed have it's problems and bad areas like any other city but my view having lived in both is that Glasgow is a much more exciting, vibrant and pleasant place than Edinburgh!

Can I put in a vote for the economic powerhouse of the Scottish economy, home port for the oil industry and a major player in fishing, with one of the oldest universities in the country (make that the UK), some of the finest archetecture and (oddly) once the northern tip of the West Coast Main Line? The Granite City of Aberdeen.
Seriously, let's just leave it with Edinburgh, it's complicated enough as it is. Or we could go for the Australian/Canadian solution and put the capital half-way between the two...
