Glasgow-Preston ECS: An odd one...

Hi all,

Just come across this on RTT.

5M78 2023 Glasgow Central to Preston, due 0107

Quite probably the longest ECS working I have ever come across. As it turns out, not only is it VSTP working but it is also cancelled and I presume that is down to the RTC (Rail Traffic Collision) within the engineering posession on the WCML between Penrith and Carlisle earlier.

[The 39 Steps]

This working started on Monday 9th December 2013 and runs Monday to Friday inclusive. The Monday to Thursday workings form the Tuesday to Friday (inclusive) 5C31 0511 Preston to Lancaster via Carnforth which becomes 9B31 0658 to Euston via Birmingham New Street. On Saturdays it forms 5G47 0600 to Lancaster via Carnforth and becomes 9G47 to Euston via Birmingham New Street. There was a Friday only ecs working a couple of years ago Glasgow to Longsight via Crewe.
