I'm not a bus ned!

I just know a lot about them, that's all. I only know about the buses round here - trident 2s, olympians, titans, B6's, solos - plus a few other types eg. the irizar and that's about it.

What you might call the engine brake, using the engine as a brake basically.
From VoithTurbo:
Retarder is the generic name for hydrodynamic braking systems. A retarder is basically a fluid coupling in which the turbine wheel is stationary. Kinetic energy which is fed to the pump wheel is converted into heat energy. Under certain conditions, a turbo coupling can be used as a retarder (Voith Industrial Retarder VIR).

Incidently, I think the tridents the 555/6 has have voith gearboxes.

So to cut a long story short, it's just a dynamic brake?

Exactly.
People care even less about the braking system of the damn thing, which is why I cut the long story short to try and get him to be quiet about it.

Now, back on topic with mine and Gizzy's adventure to Skegness? :p

Well, we were sat in my living room watching TV and we agreed we were bored and decided to take a trip to Skegness for a romantic walk on the beach.
Sounded quite a laugh at the time.
It was quite a laugh, just a shame about Gizzy getting sick.

Whats wrong with Blackpool - avoid the neds, and there's the pleasure beach, tower, promenade, piers etc.

But let's see where the neds hang out... the pleasure beach, tower, promenade, piers etc. ;) Just a tacky place.

So where do you suggest we go in the UK for rollercoasters candy floss and sand which doesn't have neds and is less tacky?

M&D's?

Sometimes, rather like travelling on a 14x, it's not big it's not clever but you grina nd bear it because the end result is worth it.

Nothing, really. Nice enough place, just boring. And cold.
