Quite precise that. Unfortunately, not correct.

Since my first guess was too long, I will hazard a guess at 40 miles.
That's good enough. Most sources have the distance as being around 41 miles.

Incidentally, is it not the case that as a sea crossing will be involved, that nautical miles are of different lengths to land-based miles.
Indeed. Ballpark 35 nautical miles if that had been the unit of measurement being used.

Staying with Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, what's the island's current population, plus or minus a thousand?

Good enough. Population of Benbecula was apparently 1,300 in 2021, so your turn to pose the next question.
I nearly said 0, as you gave us a 1,000 each way!

What is the span, to the nearest metre (with a metre each way), of the bridge over the Atlantic at Seil
