Olney -- Bedfordshire, I think; anyway, between Bedford and Northampton. Memorialises the Christian poets / writers William Cowper and John Newton (he of Amazing Grace) who lived in the town.

Thank you, brother; and amen.

From what point in the British Isles is it possible -- according to a time-honoured flight of fancy -- to see, when conditions are favourable: six, or seven (depending on which version of the saying is quoted) kingdoms?

Anywhere - United Kingdom and five biological kingdoms (Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista and Monera).

The top of Snaefell on Man?

That's right. The kingdoms concerned are England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Man, and Heaven -- the optional seventh being that of the ancient Celtic deity Manannan, Lord of the Sea.

Anywhere - United Kingdom and five biological kingdoms (Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista and Monera).

Would be fun to give this response, to a Manx person asking one the old cliche question; however, we're going "traditional": @Gloster gets to set the next one.

Unusually, a sports question from me. What is the total number of points won by all female drivers in Formula 1 since the competition started?

This came up in our pub quiz a few months ago. I think it’s half a point

Indeed it is. Leila Lombardi was running sixth in the 1975 Spanish Grand Prix when it was stopped, which resulted in half points being awarded.

To you to operate the starting lights.

What’s the highest scoring four letter word in English language scrabble?

(Assume no tiles previously played, no letter or word premiums, no blank tiles used)

Is the right answer. Written by Edward J Mason (Archers and Dick Barton), amateur detective David Conway and his fiancee Pat attend a party held by Paul and "Red" (due to her hair colour) Farley, Red confides in David that Paul is trying to convince her she is going mad. Red then disappears and hides at a circus, because anyone involved in the new alloy is in danger, there are those who want to steal the formula, and are prepared to murder in order to get it.
Doubtless, everyone on this forum knows the contents of Rolt's book.

Your turn to write the next script

Wasnt it Hampshire, beating Northamptonshire by an Innings and over 250 runs?
