I can confidently State this is NOT anything at all to do with the periodic table.

In which country was the first occasion when one female directly-elected president immediately succeeded another female directly-elected president?

The name Purim: viz. the Jewish festival of that name -- which takes place essentially at dates varying from year to year, but in the month of March -- is from the Hebrew for "casting lots", i.e. making a chance decision by the equivalent of "picking a card at random". What, briefly, does Purim commemorate; and what does the "casting lots" element, refer to?

It commemorates the first film about Sodom and Gomorrah and the difficulty in choosing an actor for the lead part.

I wont answer. My wife's brother is married to an Israeli born on Kibbutz Sa'ar near Tiberias Western Galilee.

My sister is married to a guy also born in Tiberias -his family escaped Arab persecution in Iraq and moved to Israel in 1948. He was born in 1951 and married my sister in Preston (Catterall to be precise - very near the grid feeder on the WCML north of Preston. ) in 1986. I have 7 nephews and nieces who are half Israeli/Jewish.

Not my place to give a clue but if you read the bible book of Ester you will get the answer.

I've been out all day today (Tue. 9th) -- no chance before now, to come back on this one.

I don''t see clues as easy to think of -- as @GRALISTAIR says, read the book of Est(h)er, and you'll have it. When having trouble coming up with a possible question: matters told of at my church on Sunday, came to mind -- about the book concerned, and the Purim episode. I had previously known of Purim, and was vaguely aware of its historic / Biblical background; but the "lots" stuff was new to me, and intriguing.

Will give things until tomorrow; then do as seems appropriate.
