Zufall means chance or similar. Rex is presumably a dog, so Horst Krause may be an actual human. More I cannot work out.

Thanks ! In which location in which country, was based the world's last commercial fleet of any magnitude, of large ocean-going cargo sailing ships? (A much-loved British travel writer, who died in this century, wrote a book recounting a voyage which he made in his youth: as a seaman on one of this outfit's vessels, near the end of the fleet's career.)

What was the first area in Britain to get modern postcodes? N.b. I am not referring to city districts, such as Bristol 8 or London N. (There are, depending on your definitions, two answers. I will except either.)

Apologies for curtness of message #20,775: my computer seemed to be going a bit weird, and it seemed urgent to try to successfully post something which would allow the quiz to continue ! The shipping line was owned by Gustav Ericsson, of the Aland capital Mariehamn (the Alands are Finnish territory, but the great majority of their population is Swedish-speaking); it was essentially World War II which put paid to it. Book and author: The Last Grain Race by Eric Newby; IMO interesting, informative and very funny.

@Gloster: as above, yours to hoist the mainsail and voyage out (I see that you've just done so !)

Quite correct. In 1959 Norwich was given postcodes as a trial: they differed from the current system in a number of ways. In 1967, using the lessons learnt from Norwich, the system as we know it was rolled out, starting in Croydon.
