He was only 36 when he had his last no.1 in 1983.David Bowie?

He was indeed. Well done. Over to you!Louis Armstrong was 67 when his "What a Wonderful World" reached No. 1
Correct answer. Vittorio Pozzo was manager of World Cup winners Italy in 1934 and 1938 and consequently received a winners' medal on both occasions.I think that was Vittorio Pozzo, took over Italy in 1929, this question came up in a sports quiz I was in afew weeks ago, luckily I keep a
record of all the answers!
Sorry no, see below / above.Pepe of Brazil (not Pele).
According to this article Pepe was one of three people to win 2 world cup medals without playing. It doesn't say who the other two were.Sorry no, see below / above.
I have read the article but I have my doubts as to whether Pepe actually received winners' medals. You'd think he would have posed with them (unless he'd sold them?). Remember the kerfuffle with England's '66 squad as to who received a medal? That was only resolved some 40 years later with political intervention. I am open to correction - but I am under the distinct impression that even to this day, only those players who actually play in the Final (plus the Manager) receives a winners' medals?According to this article Pepe was one of three people to win 2 world cup medals without playing. World Cup still bitter-sweet for Brazil's double winner (yahoo.com)
The England (non) players did receive Medals in 2007. The article also mentions Pele got a 3rd medal. As Pepe was (and still is) alive I suspect he got two.I have read the article but I have my doubts as to whether Pepe actually received winners' medals. Point is that Pele actually played in the 1958, 1962 (and 1970) World Cup finals. Pepe didn't, due to injury. The article also mentions Pele got a 3rd medal. As Pepe was (and still is) alive I suspect he got two.
Several England players didn't play in the 1966 finals. They all got medals.Point is that Pele actually played in the 1958, 1962 (and 1970) World Cup finals. Pepe didn't, due to injury.
After the event, though. Probably around the late 2000's. Concur that Pepe and all other still living members of FIFA World Cup winners squads from 1930 to 1974 should also have received gold medals at or around this time. Including Pele, who played in the 1962 tournament, but not the final itself. Believe over 100 such medals were issued.Several England players didn't play in the 1966 finals. They all got medals.
