There's a bright golden haze on the meadow and the corn is as high as an elephant's eye. Oklahoma! It isn't Texas: but as has been, with most of the incorrect suggestions which we've had for No. 5 -- you're in the right general geographical ballpark.

All 3 correct.Indianapolis/ Indiana
Oklahoma City / Oklahoma

It's not that. You're right, some are fabulously obscure, which is another quiz in itself of course, for another day.Last one -- Minneapolis / Minnesota? I'm guessing: US state capitals are notoriously tricky -- half the time, it isn't a well-known big city, but some obscure burg which most people have never heard of !

Philadelphia / Pennsylvania? (As per the above -- it's probably Horseandcartville, in the middle of Amish country)
It is none of those ladies."Last throw" (I'm about to go out till evening) -- probably both cheating, and wrong -- capital of North Carolina (taking the "C" and ignoring the "N") -- Charlotte?
I know Montpelier (Vermont) and Augusta (Maine) are tiny. Been to both and they were small towns, definitely fewer than a 30k population. Montpelier is a big village. Locals got offended for some reason when I mentioned this...Continuing with the same theme; I once went to a pub quiz where the quizzer asked which the smallest state capital in the US is by population, and insisted Juneau Alaska was the right answer.
Sadly, this predated Mr W Pedia and smartphones so just about every team had to limit themselves to some disgruntled tutting and rolling of eyes.
Juneau (population approx 31,000) is actually the sixth smallest state capital by population - so what are the five that are smaller?

Going by answers to the previous quiz, I'll have a stab at Dover in Delaware
Cheyenne, Wyoming?
Nope, sorry
Honolulu, Hawaii?
As per @Calthrop says, the north/north west region is fairly sparse in bits, Oregon aside, so how about Helena, Montana, as a guess of sorts?
Newport, Rhode Island?
Remaining two -- purely guessing -- Olympia, Washington State; and Concord, New Hampshire ?
Time for a clue or two. One is a near namesake of a major European city. The other sounds like a relatively common name in a major European country
