I have no idea where but I am going to say it must be a Liverpool Constituency. I would have at one time said South or North Fylde for the Conservatives but I don't think so anymore. Cant remember its exact name but where the Ford Plant is - Halewood or Garston I think.

At a guess, is it anything to do with the fact that sum of the numbers 1 - 12 inclusive total 78? Or to put it another way, to work out the sum of a series of consecutive numbers, add the first and last number in the series, and multiply by the half the number of numbers in the series. (i.e. for the series 1 - 12, add 1 + 12 and multiply by 12/2.)

Is it anything to do with the 12 Days of Christmas, and counting the total number of presents? On Day 1, there is 1 present, on Day 2 there is 1+2 presents, etc. To total the number of presents, the sum is 1 + (1+2)/(2/2) + (1+3)/(3/2) etc all the way up to (1+12)/(12/2) (which is where the 78 comes from), to give a total of 364 (which is one less than the number of days in a year!).
