Gore just lost the one presidential election, this was, as you say, in 2000.So I am thinking it may possibly be Al Gore.

No, James Earl Carter was another who only lost the one presidential election.Carter?
I believe that when George Washington became the first ever U.S. president (and was then subsequently re-elected a few years later) he was technically unopposed on both occasions and so there was no losing candidate (s).Does Adams losing twice against George Washington count?
One last go as my memory is just not what it used to be. I have read Field Marshall Montgomery biography and I believe his former boss with whom he remained friends Dwight D. Eisenhower defeated Stevenson twice. So the answer maybe Stevenson but for the life of me I can not remember his first name though it is a little weird iirc. So Stevenson?
OK lets stay on politics and make it a lot simpler but there will be a Brucey bonus.
How many post War (WW2) Labour Chancellor of the Exchequers have there been?
The Brucey bonus is naming them.
Fantastic - spot on and the Brucie bonus. You are in the money which chancellors take care of.8: Dalton, Cripps, Gaitskell, Callaghan, Jenkins, Healey, Brown, Darling
Thank you.Fantastic - spot on and the Bruce’s bonus. You are in the money which chancellors take care of.

The term "Brucie Bonus" comes from the TV game show "Play Your Cards Right" hosted by Bruce Forsyth. From wikipedia: 'By 1985, the winner of each of the two games in the first half would get a prize known as a "Brucie Bonus".' Alas the bonus prize here is merely the adulation of your fellow forum members for your outstanding knowledge!Thank you.
Not sure what you mean by 'bonus'! Would you like me to set the next question?
Yes, it was Harriet Lane. She was his niece but she had also been adopted by him when orphaned. Before coming White House Hostess, she had accompanied him when he was US ambassador in London. She became a friend of Queen Victoria.James Buchanan whose niece Harriet Lane was his "first lady"
I have a sneaking feeling it was Arizona.I will stick with the US theme then. If Hawaii was the 50th and Alaska the 49th states to join the Union what was the 48th state?
Way too high sorry. See above bottled in bond type is minimum 4 yearsCan I plump for 12 years?
