Im sure I saw an item about this on Breakfast TV a while ago,
I think it has to do with this years Wales Rugby team and the six nations championship against France.
Didnt Wales have to revamp their Shirt logos because of French media restrictions.

because this has the basic information that I was looking for.
Back in the 2000s, Brains Brewery were the shirt sponsors for the Welsh Rugby Team. Because the French do not allow any alcohol sponsorship, they had to change the "Brains" logo to "Brawn" (for the away match in 2005), "Brawn Again" (2007), and "Try Essai" (2009). The first two are a play on the word "Brains", and the last is a play on the words "Try SA", one of their main beers.

Theme tunes of TV soaps. The second one is EastEnders. Not sure about the others.
You are right with Eastenders but not TV soaps.

You are correct in they were songs taken from the theme music of TV series, they didnt get to No 1.
Which series were they though, you've got Eastenders as No.2

Nothing to do with the singers of the songs, but you're on the right lines.

Anita Dobson sang Anyone can fall in love theme from Eastenders,
Marti Webb sang Always there, theme from Howards End,

Haile Selassie was the emperor of Ethiopia (or, as it used to be known, Abyssinia).
