Getting away from science based questions:

Who wrote and recorded a song featuring, among others, the following dead animals - cat, dog, toad frog, rabbit and raccoon?

The only thing I can think of is that it's a version of "There was an Old Woman who swallowed a Fly" etc., which was performed (and written?) by Burl Ives.

Am I close ... or miles away?

You've got the right sex and nationality if that's any consolation.

The person in question is 70 years old and (according to Wikipedia) his musical styles are folk, rock, blues and comedy.

Loudon Wainwright and the delightful Dead skunk in the middle of the road. (Unbelievably smelly if you ever come across one!)

The golden age of air travel is long gone with even BA now charging for food on short haul. As mass air travel started to develop in the 60's why did airlines start to offer more and more freebies to compete against their rivals?

Was it something to do with the appearance of the likes of Laker Airways forcing the proper flag carrier airlines to set themselves apart?

Next question:

This is approximately one quarter, and the least memorable part, of a well known painting by a famous artist.

What is the title of the painting and who was the artist?

That looks suspiciously like the background in "The Persistence of Memory" by Salvador Dali.

It may be the least memorable part of the painting, but it's still very distinctive! :D

Open Floor if correct.

I'll take this, please.

Here are four questions relating to the lyrics of a 1974 song by Leo Sayer:

1. Where did the lovers meet every night?
2. What did Eddie do to the van?
3. Where did Mrs Park's daughter work?
4. How far were they from Gretna at the end of the song?

1. Mexican disco
2. resprayed it
3. ???
4. 10 miles

name of song is "Moonlighting"

Now I'm going to be singing the song non stop the next 3 days !

Yes, all correct so far, well done.

A clue to the missing one is that she worked on a function no longer carried out by the organisation involved - and I hope that's not too cryptic!

My Mum reckons she worked for the council, in water rates.
If that is correct I'll give the baton to the honourable member martinsh, as he did most of the work.

Another one from me:

What are these two words which have the same spelling apart from the additional "r" in the first?

*****r*** (painful)
******** (labyrinthine)

I'll take the floor.

In which non-canonical gospel would you find stories of Jesus as a child; including the story where Jesus breathes life into a clay bird, the story where Jesus resurrects a man who died in a construction accident, and the story where Jesus curses a boy who then dies and his parents become blind?
