Does the image in the centre of the stamp in the image that you submitted portray an amalgamation of the coat of arms symbols of both the settlements of Lubeck and of Hamburg ?

Absolutely correct! From the 15th century until 1867 Bergedorf was ruled jointly by the Hanseatic cities of Hamburg and Lübeck.

Your turn, Paul!

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
I have sent a PM to DarloRich to notify him that he won the last conundrum and asked if he could set a new one to solve.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
EDIT....Since four days have elapsed without a new conundrum being set, I suppose it is safe to assume that OPEN FLOOR is now operational.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you all. It has been a bit hectic. I am happy to abdicate!

Paul – I only knew the answer as that is the only thing I can remember from a debate at school entitled “what have the French ever done for us”!

The medical hint was what made me guess at beta blockers - wouldn't have guessed anything even close without it.

What do
Florence
Samarkand
Saint Petersburg and
Mdina
all have in common?

Not domes, much more elevated you could say.

Mandalay and Rawalpindi are another 2.

They might, but that's not it.

And topically... Rio de Janeiro is another one.

They all have large statues of Jesus?

No, that's not it.

Yangon is, I think, the only one to join the list this century...so far.

edit - found another one, but it's on a tiny island in the Pacific.
