Well, none are correct. Note how I worded my the first part of the question...

CLUE : It was a geyser that had a sudden 2-year great increase in strength in which the record was established and this was verified by a scientist and his wife who were present in this area.
CLUE TWO
The period of extreme power that caused the record to be set was between 1901 and 1903.
A height of geyser eruption reached in that time was a super-eruption that reached a height of 460 metres and the colour of the liquid was said to be a vast column of black water..... The Steamboat geyser in Yellowstone National Park only reaches a height of 100 metres on average.
It is in New Zealand and I've been past where it is on the bus from Taupo to Rotorua. I remember from my guide book. I'm not going to cheat and look it up though. Ha ha.
New Zealand is correct, but I still need the name of this geyser.
Was it the Waimangu Geyser?
