No idea!
I only know the names of two geysers Old Faithfull and Lady Knox (which is made to erupt each day for tourists by putting soap powder down the vent
) and there has to be bigger

It was neither of these two. Don't forget the wording of the question asks for the location/country and the name.

There's a big bugger in New Zealand. Rotoruaa, or something like that.
Do you mean the Pohutu Geyser? I think its in the Te Puia centre just outside Rotorua. We saved money on going in there and went walking in the Whakarewarewa forest where you could see it from one of the hills. I think that is the biggest geyser in the southern hemisphere, hands up, I don't know the answer to the actual question asked by Paul though.

Well, none are correct. Note how I worded my the first part of the question...
"Where WAS the largest geyser that WAS ever recorded in the world."
CLUE : It was a geyser that had a sudden 2-year great increase in strength in which the record was established and this was verified by a scientist and his wife who were present in this area.

Not got a clue to be honest Paul but can I have a guess that it wasn't a million miles or even a couple of miles) away from Rotorua? Never seen a thermal area like it.

It is in New Zealand and I've been past where it is on the bus from Taupo to Rotorua. I remember from my guide book. I'm not going to cheat and look it up though. Ha ha.

New Zealand is correct, but I still need the name of this geyser.
That will take a more knowledgeable person than me, which shouldn't be hard, ha ha. My hand written travel log is less than a yard away from me but I refuse to cheat.
