It was for towing services. The command module on Apollo 13 (manufactured by Rockwell) didn't have the resources to attempt re entry after the oxygen tank failure. Therefore the astronauts decamped to the lunar module (manufactured by Grumman), to be able to attempt a survivable re entry.

I agree with ComUtoR, Robert Downey Jr is the best version and the casting of him and Jude Law was inspired.

I would respectfully suggest that you really give Conan-Doyle a good read. Jeremy Brett was by far the best Holmes, he caught Holmes' idiosyncrasies and mercurial moods perfectly.
