I see what you did with your oun.

One missing colour is Grey but as I last studied this subject in 1983 I can't remember the other one.
I presume by "oun" you mean "pun" but I think you only got half of it.

Grey is not correct, if it was there would have been three missing colours.

From the answers so far I suspect that some of you know the significance of the colours, now apply that knowledge to the question. Which was:

It would be irrational to resist this next question:

What are the two missing colours?
Orange Brown Yellow ... Green White Red Blue ...

Oh good lord - I should have known that. Massive clue

Resistor color bands and the multiplication factor power of 10. So it looks like violet 10^7 is missing and grey 10^8 . Black does not count because it is just X1

They are resistor (and capacitor) colour codes but why are they in that particular order (which isn't numerical) and is the reason irrational?

I'm going to help you.

Here are the colour codes, insert the relevant ones into the question and find the missing colours, it's as easy as pie!

Black 0
Brown 1
Red 2
Orange 3
Yellow 4
Green 5
Blue 6
Violet 7
Grey 8
White 9

Is it Pi? 3.14159265, so 4th is Brown, and 9th is Green. How irrational!

Who was the last monarch to refuse to give royal assent for a bill? Bonus points for the piece of legislation involved

There was a king in Belgium who recently abdicated for a day so that parliament could pass anti-abortion laws, which, because he was a devout catholic, he felt unable to pass. Does this count? You did not specify which country's monarch :D

You're right, I didn't, and I should have done. Sorry

If we are referring to British monarchs then I think it is Queen Anne and it involved Scottish militias.

That's the answer I was looking for; she refused the Scottish Militia Act on 11 March 1708

For you to give royal assent to the next question

I'll take it...

Who spoke the first words and the last words in the original series of Dallas?

Please ignore the short lived revival series of a few years ago - I am looking for the 1978 to 1991 series.

Bobby, giving a teaser about it being a clean show at the start and an eulogy to the wonderfully reinvigorating qualities of a shower at the end.
