Science was definitely my favourite (and best!) subject. I've continued it to AS, will be taking Biology onto A2, and hopefully a form of science at degree level.
I love all three sciences, as well as being really good at them. In chemistry my teacher gives me an AS paper to look at if I finish work really early in the lesson and I can answer quite a few questions (whether they're right or no that's another thing!).Science was definitely my favourite (and best!) subject. Darn you! I'll have to think of a harder one!2,4,6-trinitrotoluene - sorry, I've used that formula before!
(TNT for the non-Chemists!)

<this has nothing to do with the original code, but is here to keep the rendering in place>
Well it is clearly an isomer of butene and has the 'cis' form - cis-2-buteneCode:H3C CH3 \ / C = C / \ H H <this has nothing to do with the original code, but is here to keep the rendering in place>
Benzene ring + Hydroxy group + Carboxyl group = acid of some sort . Seems like a fatty acid possibly. Salicylic Acid? Only because it's the only one I can think of that has a benzene ring)A harder one is C6H4(OH)COOH (the C6 does form a benzene ring)
And I know Ketones and Aldehydes too, along with some other things.Blimey, class172, you basically are at AS Level if you understand benzine rings and E/Z isomers!

Salicylic acid is the only fatty acid I know so that did help!Gordon Bennett, you're good. I had to look salicylic acid up

I know what you mean, some people's English is let's say, not that good.
I start my GCSEs next year too (just trying to think what year I am in as my school has this really odd year system - Lower Removes = Y9). As for English as a subject, I loathe it! Too much 'analyse this text' and 'pick out the literary devices used.' It's so dull![]()

Next Chemistry lesson...pH calculations and Redox![]()
I don't know whether it could form that isomer but if it does TNT is probably referred to as the 2,4,6 variant as it is the most widely recognised? I may be wrong.Where does it say that it's 2,4,6-TNT, it could be 2,4,5-TNT from only having the systematic formula....
What the?!?!? Well morphine comes to mind as it has 'morphinian' in it but I don't have a clue otherwise - if it is then it's a painkillerHow about the common name, and use for (5α,6α)-7,8-didehydro-4,5-epoxy-3-methoxy-17-methylmorphinan-6-ol ?
Results day tomorrow, God am I nervous!
my daughter got her A levels last week and I know how it feels as I did mine the year before.
