I went on Holiday to Withernsea with the Mrs last week. To get back we had to get on the train at Hull, where my story begins. When i went to the ticket machine to purchase 2 tickets from Hull to Lincoln, the ticket machine took the money off my debit card but refused to give me the tickets, i thought this was odd so i took my card to the ticket office and told the lady there she said that the machine had not issued the tickets because i had the wrong type of card ( visa electron) and she couldnt give me a ticket. so i went off to the bank to get the cash and found that i was light £65 and asked the bank if i could get it back they said yes if a manager form the sattion confirmed the money was taken i error so back at the station they told me there were no managers in that day (saturday) so i was faced with being stranded untill a nice lady from the bank had a long and harsh conversation with Hull Trains to get them to refund me. has anyone else had issues with paying by card at ticket machines?
