Hi, I'm a new member. Have been reading a lot of this thread about when the job will actually start if successful. I believe I seen someone say they're due to start in April after being awarded a contract. Does anybody know roughly when I'd start if I pass my stage 2 and DMI? I'm booked in at the OPC on 8th Feb.
They run several training courses through the year. But even if you pass stage 2 and DMI you could still sit in a talent pool and not be selected this year

It’s just how it’s gone in the past. On the training course I was on, there had been people that had applied for the role within a few months and others that had been in the talent pool a couple of years.

Has anybody else made it through stage 2’s to a DMI?

Unfortunately I didn't make it through stage 2 I failed on the 2 hand coordination test on Wednesday. Was gutted but I'll bounce back. The other 3 from my group went through to MMI I hope they all got through it they were a decent group.

Oh, hopefully next time you know what to expect. They were sensitive weren’t they! I wasn’t expecting so many photos they seemed to go on and on…

Completed my stage 2 tests on Friday and passed the 3 computerized tests. MMI was tough but I focused on key competencies. Fingers crossed made it through to the DMI stage.

Depends what order you go in to your MMI in. I asked to go first so I could get going on the drive home. I left about 14:30ish.
Thanks mate. One last question were the questions for the MMI things like name a time when you - followed rules and procedures, handled a difficult situation, done a similar task like train driving etc. probably not worded like I put them, but along them lines?

Yeah similar but I remember when she gave me the sheet they weren’t what I was expecting - it threw me a bit. I’d say 3 were and 3 weren’t. I honestly can’t remember, I’ve tried to think but the whole thing merged in to one! She didn’t want one of the answers I gave so had to give another example.

Good luck, you’ll be fine they make you feel comfortable and there’s no pressure. It’s your story so tell them everything you can.
Thanks, I said last question before but just one more I promise, do you answer all 6 questions or do they pick so many from 6 on a sheet?

They give you a sheet straight after computer tests with 6 questions on. You write a couple of sentences then you go through all 6 in detail in the interview.

I thought the same, I have my TTD next week I’ve previously passed a dmi for the same company but it was over a year ago so I have to redo it.
It’s just trainee train driver interview, doesn’t mean anything haha. It’s just a DMI
