What are your favourite classes? And which do you like least?

My favourites are like this.

Diesel loco: 47
Electric loco: 87
DMU: 168
EMU: 321

Out of all of them, my favourite would either be 47 or 87.

Cool. I haven't ridden on a Clubman yet, but probably will once the Oxford Link opens (although those will probably be the 168/3s or the 166s). Mine would go:

I will actually be surprised if the TPE 170s get renumbered. The 68s are much nicer than the 168s though. The HSTs are very good and it will be a shame when they go. I have only been on 1 class 180 and I didn't really like it. 175s are also quite good as a DMU though.

As for DEMU, I can't possibly say either. I hate them all with a passion.

They've announced that the 170/3s will become 168/3s, IIRC.

I've never ridden on a Chiltern service before (will probably use them once they reach Oxford), and I haven't had a 175 before either. I found 180s to be comfortable (the only ones I've had are the FGW ones) and they don't have the horrible seating you get on Pendolinos and the like which pushes your head forward.

323s I've never done, however already love them just because of the noise. The 395s are OK, but feel rather boring and sterile. They're also always rather cold.

My favourite liveries are GNER, Grand Central, Dynamic Lines (particularly on Hull Trains and the 185s), Scotrail Saltire, TPExpress 350s and First Corporate (aka Barbie). Not a fan of all the dull shades of white and grey in the south, although I like Southeastern's new livery (as well as FGW's) and the blue doors used by Great Northern.

Oddly enough, I find VTEC's HST livery OK (still nicer than slapping a massive logo on the front) but it pales in comparison to GNER. It's never overstated, or horrifically boring. It just looked really smart. That's also why I like FGW's new livery (though not as much). It's quite smart and isn't boring (matt stripe).

I have a definite soft spot for 37's, 31's and 25's and the brand new 68's or thundercats as I prefer to call then.
dislikes- Peaks immensely and Voyagers and the 142's.
I'm old school and didn't ever think I'D EVER have a favourite unit but I have to admit, I'm keen on the 156's and 323's. Thumpers also sound awesome.

My fave livery is probably the Virgin livery on an 87 or a 47. It just looks stunning!

I like most locos (except 57s, 66s and 90s). But Brush are definitely my fave, followed by 26/27 and then probably 37/20 or maybe even a 70! As for the 68s... They are brilliant locos and as my local class, I can head out for them very regularly. As for the VT HST livery, I hate it.

It was. Ruined by people who can't follow the rules or try to be too clever. Same thing happened on the cryptic stations quiz.

Thankfully there are threads like this one to compensate.

It was very fun but incredibly busy. I completed 2 trip reports but due to the memory stick I was using getting bumped, I lost all of 1 and a bit of the other.

I will be on a FOSS next week (starting Monday) with my main aim being the 32 FGW trams that I need for haulage. A few units will be included too though. Here is the numbers of HSTs that I need in each company.

My RailSail Advance takes us on the 0908 to Crewe then 1049 Voyager to Holyhead. Not sure how come the ATW to Holyhead didn't end up being picked, but to be fair I hate how boring Shrewsbury to Chester via Wrexham is, so I'm not fussed lol.

It does mean I have a long Voyager run, but in pleasant company it'll be over before I know it!

As for the new track, nope not Chiltern's new Bicester curve (I keep forgetting about that, might have a bit of a trip in October for it) but a PSUL move. Newton East Connecting Line, served only by the 0426 Glasgow Central to London Euston on Saturdays only. Not looking forward to the early start on that one, but it has to be done!

My Irish trip report for day 1 is complete on the tablet, however I currently have no WiFi so can't upload it. That will probably go up with Day 2 tomorrow night, not sure yet.

Strange. I agree about the bit from Shrewsbury to Chester being really boring. Even worse when you are on a 150 with a rubbish seat.

That's a long way to go for a little bit of PSUL track! Will a bit of bashing in Glasgow be put into that trip too?
