I've never understood why he's been so far off the pace for two whole seasons with the win in Monza last year, the 5th in Singapore a month ago and this 7th place the only excpetions. It has cost McLaren millions if they lose 4th in the contructors to Alpine primarily because of Ricciardos lack of pace. The stakes were too high to retain him.

George Russell had a fantastic weekend. 3rd in Qualifying, 1st in the Sprint, 1st in the Grand Prix with fastest lap. Should cement himself into 4th in the 2022 Driver Standings meaning Hamilton is beaten by a teammate for the first time since Rosberg in 2016 (bar a miracle for Hamilton)

There seems to be a great deal of unanimity on this point. I lost quite a bit of respect after the whole "we're not speaking to Sky" thing. Shows a contempt for the viewing public who often don't have a choice of (live) provider.

Verstappen seems to be turning into the new Schumacher (Michael not Mick): a talented driver but a very poor sportsman. You don't *have* to be that self-centered to get to the top, as some great drivers of the past have proved.

Max could have boosted Sergio's points standing at negligible cost to himself, plus Max arguably only had the place because Sergio had earlier let him past to improve the team's chances.

Even Schumacher was happy to return favours once he'd won the WDC, as we saw at places like Indy. So was Senna, so was Mansell, although I always got the impression Mansell was really rubbing Patrese's face in it.

Verstappen has referred to a perceived slight, which is rumoured to be that he thinks Perez deliberately crashed in Monaco. I don't see that Perez did deliberately crash, but it's the sort of thing Verstappen would do. And I think Max thinks that because *he* would do it, so would everybody else.
