What a farce of a game, as stated by others there is no way Kompany should have been sent off, let alone given a booking. What really p*sses me off is that Nani (rather shockingly) got back up after the tackle and tried to get on with the game, it was Rooney running over to the ref making gestures which got him to blow the whistle, followed by being surrounded by the filth.

Shocking decisions, Giggs should have been booked for that cynical tackle but then again we know which way the big calls go in their games. I knew we were screwed from the 12th minute, but being a blue I stuck by them (just like Wembley '99) and really enjoyed the second half. If we had managed to get that equaliser I think I would have ran out into the street screaming, still we gave them a hell of a game and showed them that we are no pushovers, with ten men and 3 goals down we managed to take it the wire and that is more important for our team than had we won 1-nil.

ITV is awful for football, I still can't take them seriously after that "accidental" cut to adverts in the cup game which consequently cut the goal. They knew what they were doing, they would have had to drop an entire ad break and therefore refund some of that ad revenue, a little accidental break would be forgotten about it was just unfortunate for them about what happened on the pitch.

I don't know how the hell they got that filthy scumbag into the stadium (not Adrian Chiles) but why did they have him on as a pundit, he is the most biased "person" in the history of pundits. I admit I had reservations about Gary Neville going to ESPN and even more reservations about him working the City games but he has actually been unbiased and takes the role seriously and gives an objective opinion on the game, the other one should disappear for good, preferably down a mineshaft or a true city fans cellar...

BBC are now reporting that Warnock has gone.

I think the 32 year old woman was his ex girlfriend. Both are in custody at the moment

Well done..as a match against West Ham United was not an easy tie. At least Sheffield Wednesday have progressed through the the fourth round, which is more than can be said for some so-called "top level" teams.

I would be careful that a match against Blackpool is not under-estimated.

The board at QPR, mindful of how much membership of the Premiership is worth, looked at the Christmas/New Year "half-way" mark and saw their club in 17th position, just outside the "dreaded bottom three" positions. I cannot say that I was surprised by their decision.

Warnock is a very abrasive character who can foster a very poor "dressing-room" atmosphere. We had him at Oldham Athletic some years ago and when he left, it was said that he was the most hated person at the club by the players, management, coaching staff....with the supporters not so very far behind with their condemnation of his general attitude.

I wish I could say that Oldham Athletic could help you in this weekend's fixtures, as we are away to Huddersfield Town, who are two points behind you in 3rd place, but considering that Huddersfield Town won 6-0 away at Wycombe last Friday, with Rhodes scoring FIVE, even my optimistic feelings have received something of a reality check.

I am very realistic about Leeds United!

We did ok last night, we battled hard and kept on fighting throughout but ultimatley we didn't create enough to seriously threaten Arsenal.

Most of the time they looked comfortable in defence and had plenty of time on the ball. Arshavin and Chamakh were incredibley poor though.

Then Arsenal brough on Henry and that was that!

I just hope we show that type of resilient defence in the league but I doubt we will.

It was a hell of a shot, was hilarious from inside the ground. Wonder how it came accross on the tv.

The appeal against the red card by Manchester City was heard today....and rejected by the disciplinary body.

Kompany was given a four-match ban, which will include both Carling Cup semi-final matches against Liverpool

Yeah I found that out a few hours ago, some of us were expecting it as it would make the Ref look even worse, instead it just shows the bias of the FA towards Trafford Utd... Or should that be that they don't want to upset McTaggart? I notice that the FA are not going to take any action over Rooney, and that the appeal hearing didn't look into the fact that the Ref was playing on until the lumbering scouse *serious expletive* started gesturing.

Aside from that saga and in tying up a loose end, since I developed the rather annoying habit of not finishing posts of late...

Yeah, I've noticed that but I've always put it down to broadcasters bias towards the big teams since I'm sure any person who isn't a Man City/Man Utd/Arsenal/Liverpool/Chelsea or Spurs fan will tell you that what goes around does not come around
It's the same reason Man Utd are often first on motd despite more interesting games or local derbies.
