The latest financial news concerning Birmingham City is that their bankers have now withdrawn their overdraft facility. This may have some previously unforeseen implications.

Oh I can think of a few implications I would like.
Lots of talk on the grapevine of small heath having to go up this year or administration looms. Fingers Crossed <D

Motherwell v Hibs abandoned at half time due to a fire in the away end. I was at the game utter chaos folks.

Fleetwood Town fought back from being two goals down in their Friday night FA Cup match against Yeovil Town, with two goals in the last 10 minutes to make a creditable 2-2 draw.

There are quite a few FA Cup 2nd round matches this weekend that look like being difficult for the bigger clubs.

Not only is it the 2nd round of the cup but it is also the 3rd round of the Vase today too

Indeed it is, with Glossop North End (former members of the Football League) at home to Runcorn Town. These two teams are currently 5th and 4th in the Premier Division of the North West Counties League, so a keenly-fought match is to be expected.

newcastle play chelsea with a luchtime kick-off today, and i could be accused of being suicidally optimistic but i think the toon have a really good chance to get something from this game. we played well away last week, and now we're back playing at home against a chelsea side with a shocking defence. luiz leaves huge gaps which ben arfa can exploit, terry no longer has the legs to be covering. we've defended really well too this season and i'm confident that can continue

Unfortunately you were!

luiz leaves huge gaps

An abysmal performance from him today, should have been sent off in the fourth minute.

You could tell when Perch came on for Collocini that we were going to crumble!
From what I have heard it Collocini seems to have had a thigh problem, rather than the back spasms he has been suffering from recently, and Taylor went off injured also, so It'll be interesting to see who our central defence will be in the West Brom game.
Perch was as bad as expected - his marking simply wasn't tight enough, practically inviting Drogba to take a shot.
However, I don't think that the 3 - 0 scoreline reflects our overall performance, we came close to pulling level many times (hitting the woodwork three times) and if the ref had seen sense at the start of the game - to send David Luiz off, we could have had a totally different outcome.

Martin O'Neill has been appointed as team manager of Sunderland, on a three-year contract, with effect from Monday.

I see my club Oldham Athletic managed to draw 1-1 in the FA Cup away to Southend United today. At least we made it through to a reply, by which time we should know who the winners of the tie will be drawn against in the 3rd round.

The FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round draw takes place tomorrow at approximately 1440, featuring former Chelsea and Italy legend Gianfranco Zola and former Everton and Sheffield United midfielder Li Tie. Awesome!

I have said it before and I will say it again

mcleish out

Luckily my game today was Gresley v Gornal Athletic in the FA Vase. 22 players who played the game in a good spirit and wanted to win the game. An entertaining 4-2 was the result.

Not like the spineless bunch in claret and blue under the direction of the worst, most clueless, negative, inept, manager I have ever seen at Villa Park. (Sorry just remembered Billy McNeill)

Get that scottish buffoon out now or we will be heading the same way as the club he managed to bore to relegation last season.
We are becoming a laughing stock and it needs to be stopped soon.
We didn't want this clown at our club and every game that passes more and more empty seats will start appearing.

And don't tell me he did this and that in Scotland either as it is inadmissible in evidence as Scottish football is garbage.

should have guessed that would happen after my post

An abysmal performance from him today, should have been sent off in the fourth minute.

how the ref can fail to send off a player for a professional foul, i will never know

You could tell when Perch came on for Collocini that we were going to crumble!Perch was as bad as expected - his marking simply wasn't tight enough, practically inviting Drogba to take a shot.

i've long been a doubter of perch....the thought of him organising our defence for the foreseeable future is not a happy one

It'll be interesting to see who our central defence will be in the West Brom game.

suppose it'll have to be perch and....um.....kadar?
...do we even have another central defender?

However, I don't think that the 3 - 0 scoreline reflects our overall performance, we came close to pulling level many times (hitting the woodwork three times) and if the ref had seen sense at the start of the game - to send David Luiz off, we could have had a totally different outcome.

we were deperately unlucky, and the luiz decision was pathetic. not a particularly worrying performance in terms of the way we played - apart from perch, who we all know is hoepless anyway - but now we're going to pay for our lack of cover in central defence :(

20 minutes until the Third Round draw. Not been this excited about something since last year's Third Round draw!

Ditto, it's a running joke that we get Man Utd at home by fair means or foul

Bristol Rovers away. Should get a result but probably not if we played like we did yesterday!

Hope West Brom get Wolves at home

Nearly...!

Brum v Wolves
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
They like drawing consecutive numbers (i.e. Man C; Man U) don't they?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Not bad for Chelmsford if they can somehow overhaul Macclesfield! :p
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Next up: If we lose; I'm finding a new club. (Not really, but seriously there's no excuse!)

Yes. I ALMOST got my perfect game! Just the wrong side of Stanley Park (and the wrong team is at home)...

Would also mean that Southend have played Man U, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool in barely five years if they get through though.
