I have just re read the article and quite frankly it is a load of guff. I think Mr Bevan has a hidden agenda somewhere. Is there one single quote in that article from any foreign owner. No. Has anyone ever read a quote anywhere from any foreign owner suggesting scrapping relegation. No. Has anyone seen / heard an interview with a foreign owner suggesting scrapping relegation. No.
So what is he up to ?
There was a plan put forward a couple of years ago to have a two tier Premier League with no relegation from it and to include the two bigots from North of the border. And which foreign owner was it that put this plan forward. Oh yes it was Phil Gartside from Bolton. No I don't think being Northern is regarded as being foreign just yet. Despite what MattE2000 might think !!
So in my opinion what utter tripe.

With regards to a European Super League. Well that will never happen, and the reason is very simple. So we have a 16 team European Super League. The likes of Barcelona, Real, Bayern, The two Milan's, The English big 5 (sic) and a few other waifs and strays. Now then these 16 teams are used to being the top of the tree. Success is all they and their fans will tolerate. Now then all of a sudden you have a league where only one of them can be a winner. Where mid-table mediocrity is a possibility and you might even finish in the bottom couple of places. How will that go down with the loyal, ahem, fans of these clubs. Not very well I would imagine. So soon enough attendances will drop. Interest will drop and before you know it they will want to come back to their own Leagues. Not gonna happen.

I think the football side of Rangers are dealing with things pretty well considering it must be quite unsettling.

At least Stoke City seem to be enjoying matches in the Europa League at the Britannia Stadium, beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-0, with all the goals scored in the first half. Both sides had a player sent off.

Sheffield wednesday maintain there fortress of hillsborough with a 2-0 over colchester to take there home form to 12 in 13 wins. Which includes the first 7 games at home this season which have all been wins. Keeping up pace with the top boys a dissapointing start to the season has flurished into quite an incredibly consistent run for the owls!

Thanks for that mention....Yes, the Great Inconsistents actually won today, with a 2-0 home win against Wycombe, but in front of only 3,592 which is poor for a League I side. (Sheffield Wednesday had an attendance of 17,634 in comparison)

Bad news for my non-league team, Hyde FC, who lost their first league match of the season at Guisley and have been replaced at the top of the league by local rivals Stalybridge Celtic...gnolife has just made a posting about that match against his side, Altrincham.

Is it bad that 17,000 is still a shocking attendance for us? considering weve won 6 homes games in a row and just came back from 2-0 against utd! when i was a season ticket holder before i went to uni we used to hit 24K even when playing bad....

For Manchester United to go from beating Arsenal 8-2 at Old Trafford, to losing 1-6 at the same ground to their nouveau riche local neighbours, in such a short period of time, is remarkable to say the least. If Manchester City can consolidate their obvious pool of talent with regular cohesive team performances both in the domestic league and in the Champions League, with the guiding hand of their manager, they can look forward to much success.

Once again, a Manchester United centre-back is shown a red card... Evans today, Vidic in the Champions League last week. When Pallister and Bruce were the centre-back pairing for so many years, this seems to cause confidence to spread throughout the team, but the Vidic and Ferdinand pairing was missing in the second half of last season and this season has seen fragility in the centre of their defence.
