Manchester City have now officially suspended Carlos Tevez for a period of two weeks whilst the club investigates his recent conduct and the affair of the incident at Bayern Munich.
During that period he will neither be considered for team selection nor will he be allowed to participate in any Manchester City training schedules.

The chairman of FC Sion, who were thrown out of the Europa League for rules contravention, that allowed Celtic to be readmitted to the competition, attended the hearing that was called to reconsider the case yesterday. It was heard in Lausanne by the Court of Arbitration for Sport and a verdict is due to be given next Monday. However, as Celtic have already played a game in the next round of this competition, the verdict will be legally interesting to say the least.

I think there's something like a 75% tax barrier on certain earnings, but I read that a lot of these footballers avoid certain taxes (legally) through registering their own companies and selling image rights. I don't know how it works, but if I was on £220,000 per week.........

Not on my scope they don't - but not all in these professions are overpaid, though.
Surely the West Ham owners couldn't meet his wage demand! And after the saga last time, I would have though West Ham would have wanted to stay clear of that particular player!

He singlehandedly kept them in the Premier League! The whole third party ownership saga wasn't his fault anyway.
Regarding wages, Man City would pay them anyway. It's common practice for a player going on loan to a lower league to receive wages from the parent club.

No, he didn't.
But he's always said he has unfinished business with us and would want to come back to UP one day.
However, he'll be sold in January, which means when fate draws us against Sheffiled United in the Cup, he won't be at West Ham

Macclesfield Town (the league team nearest to where I live) are doing their best to confound the "pundits" who said they were certainties for relegation out of the Football League at the end of this season. Another good 2-0 home win on Friday night at the Moss Rose over Swindon Town.

A few things I wish to point out from yesterday's games:
1) Rodwell's red card - This is quite possibly one of the worst refereeing decisions ever in top flight English football. What an absolutely horrendous decision it was. Rodwell won the ball fair and square and made absolutely no attempt to get the man. What made it worse was when Hibbert took out Adam later on and a foul wasn't even given!
2) Howard's penalty save - What more is there to say? Brilliant, definitely one of the best I have ever seen.
3) Blackburn vs Man City - It's getting worse and worse for Kean now. However, if they were to sack him, who would they get in? I think the transfer budget they were allocated in summer, instead of getting them a respectable top-half finish, will be needed solely to stay out of the bottom three. If the current trend survives beyond the end of this month, or Samba is to leave in January, then I am fairly certain Blackburn Rovers will be relegated.
4) Wolves vs Newcastle - Wolves' equaliser should have counted. The ball wasn't behind the line when it was headed back in to play, and from his position, the linesman wouldn't have been able to tell either way!

Liking the football chat, I myself look out for a few teams, Villa as a child, watched Sunderland at Roker Park, these days I lik Darlington and a couple of other local non league teams.
As for Steve Kean, I remember something in the paper over the summer, and he said his 5 year plan was to bring Champions League Football to Ewood Park, the way things are going there he will be lucky to get top 4 in the championship at this rate.
As for Tevez, the less said about him, the better, he is just a little moaning bitch, City should drag him through the courts for breach of contract, with his 200k+ a week he should be made to run through brick walls and walk into hell and fight the devil for the fans, Man City, Chelsea and Utd stand for everything I hate about top football, I would rather watch a team of 11 mediocre players who give blood, sweat and tears every week, even if they get beat and go down fighting

I would say as far as refereeing goes if you can't be sure then you don't give it. From the angle that linesman had in the Wolves game there is no way he could have known for sure the ball was out, and therefore should not have flagged and the goal should have stood.
Rodwell sending off was a terrible decision though but not sure what angle the ref had on it.
Unfortunately a ref gets one look from one angle at full speed. Not multiple camera angles slowed right down again and again. And therefore his interpretation will differ from the armchair pundits who have probably never reffed a game in their lives. I would love to see some of these pundits ref a game seeing as some of them don't even know the laws of the game properly ( It can't be a foul he got the ball !!)

Which game was it yesterday, a referee gave a penalt, consulted the lino, then the ref reversed the decision and gave offside, I think it was in the championship

Yet another woeful performance sees Arsenal crash to their 4th game of the season at the enemy's ground in the premier league and only Bolton have a worse goal difference. So into October Arsenal are found in very stormy waters languishing in 15th place and with a worsening injury crisis as they lose yet another of the defence team to injury.
Arsenal fans like myself are beginning to wonder if Arsenal can get any worse, with even more tough fixtures to come in the month of October we could be seeing Arsenal propping up the table with Bolton and the season is already in tatters.
A unseen table in Arsenal fans eyes is the enemy are already 6 points ahead of Arsenal and with 2 games in hand, so in theory we are already 12 points in deficit.

As I said before, I think things will only get better. You've an excellent midfield and attack, but Arsene needs to focus on strenthening his defence.
