In the BBC TV Saturday afternoon football program, there is a section headed "Football Scores" where for many years, the match result scores of different divisions were read out in a clear and concise manner.

Today, there was a fast speaking garbled male voice which gave the scores as such in certain cases, but mainly just gave comment on the match result without even mentioning the actual score and there was a type of muscal backing being played.

Does anyone on the thread know the reason why this change of presentation has occurred?

It has been like that for a while, the 'Final Score' presenter (Jason Mohammed, usually) reading out the scores in the manner you describe. I agree that the programme should require the scores to be presented clearly, in particular for those who are partially sighted and rely on the clear ring to process the results in a mental manner.

I expect that the BBC would claim that by not using a separate announcer, they save a wage. However I feel that if that is indeed the case, then they need to require Jason Mohammed to do it properly - he is perfectly capable of presenting in clear speech!

Aarrrgghhhhhh! Second successive game we've conceded to lose a point in the 96th minute. No game management, fan's not happy at negative play and the manager not getting the best out his players, always being second best in every match.
Yet we are only 4 points off the playoffs, how does that happen? Funny old game Football!

• Players writhing about on the floor as if shot when not even touched

• A hand ball rule that no one seems to understand

I don't see why that would be a problem - West Ham aren't the biggest club in London even, and to get a move to a bigger club the player would have to impress with their performances which would benefit both club and player.

Same here - I suppose it could be summarised as inflated competitions, to cover 48 team World Cups as well as the European and UEFA club competitions.

- transfer deadline day hysteria before the window "slams shut". It never just closes

- players not celebrating if they score against their old club. (Although Tarkowski did last night). Grow up.

- having third kits (and fourth for some clubs). Change kit can't have any colours from the home kit in it, and can't have the same pattern. Simple
