A deserved, and very important late win for Leeds. Fulham didn’t really offer much, they looked like they’d come for a point and they nearly got it. Their keeper had a great game, but couldn’t quite keep the decisive effort out. Leeds now 8 points clear of the relegation zone.

We could well have a double-sacking of Premier League managers today (Sunday 18th); Thomas Frank's dismal run and loss this weekend has see his future widely speculated all over the Sunday papers, while Glasner's dissent towards the Palace board will almost certainly see him gone imminently, especially given Amorin set a precedent with similar dissent recently. Maybe the clubs could do a manager swap.

An attendance of 3,039 saw Bury score after 10 mintes, but Darlaston equalised in 22nd minute. After half-time, Bury scored in the 58th minute to lead 2-1, but Darlaston equalised in the 68th minute.

Bury cannot afford to drop points at home, if they want to keep a high league position.

Senegal have won the Africa Cup of Nations 1-0 after extra time. The match descended into farce after most of the Senegal team walked off the pitch after Morocco were awarded a penalty shortly before the end of normal time. They were incensed after a Senegalese goal was ruled out shortly before. After around ten minutes Senegal returned to the pitch for the penalty. The Moroccan forward Diaz attempted a panenka but it was extremely weak and easily saved. This was the last kick of the match before extra time.

Back in actin after an unplanned winter break Darlington made hard work of a game that should have been put to bed before half time but got the three points in the end. Sadly we have lost loan star Charlie Lennon. He was on loan from Boro but has been sold to Barnsley. he ahs done well for us so pleased to see him get a chance higher up but he will be hard to replace.

The AFCON final was hilarious, eventually, after having been a bit of a damp squid for 89 minutes. Attempting a panenka penalty in such circumstances ought to be a capital offence. Never been happier to see one caught.

Unless he had told the goalie what he was going to do, that was a high risk way of missing a penalty! Surely you'd just boot it 20 yards wide?

I remember a ball boy at Stafford in the 1970s deliberately holding on to the ball to delay a quick Bradford throw in and give Rangers' defenders time to get back. He was cautioned by the referee and was subjected to considerable abuse thereafter by the travelling faithful. I can't remember how old he was.

My mate Miles was a ballboy at the Shay as a child in the 70s and decided to wear his replica top. For some strange reason nobody thought to make him take it off, and then the linesman mistakenly gave someone offside because they mistook his shirt for a player. Although I didn't follow the tournament closely I gathered, from comments made by pundits during the final, that there were many complaints from competing teams about things like quality of hotels, availability of training facilities, etc. All very disappointing (if true) considering that Morocco is one of the more genuinely socio-economically developed nations in Africa. But no doubt that the referee in the final was poor.

Another distant away game, to a ground we rarely seem to do well at, and a (reasonably) comfortable win

Will Harris scored another two goals, including an overhead kick, and Flo Hoti added a third. That was enough to beat a limited Eastleigh team whose best player was the ref, who gave them two penalties that neither their players nor their fans appealed for (one saved, one scored)

Hyde United have just appointed Michael Clegg as their new manager, after the result above, replacing Martin Coyne, who in his four-month managerial role, had seen Hyde move from a mid-table side into the relegation zone, with the worst points received in the Premier Division over the last nine league matches.

A decent week for Darlo:

Chorley (FM) 1 v Darlo 2 - We haven't won at Chorley since 1989 and got humped 8-0 there a couple of years ago. This was a tough win and we did well to grind it out against a big, direct, well organised side. They aren't quite the perianal play off bothering Chorley side of recent years but still a decent side. A great 3 points on the road. Even the arrival of the air ambulance in the second half didn't distract Darlo!

Tuesday: Worksop 1 v Darlo 1

A fair result where both sides could and perhaps should have won it. Darlo looked tired and should have put the game to bed before Worksop took control of the game in the second half. We couldn't hang on for all three points this time.
