Aye, all you needed to win was a biased ref - normal SPL business is resumed! Hibs should've got a penalty for a handled passback (a call which incidentally the ref changed his mind about - the very thing your snarling thug manager wet his bed about all last season!)

But not to the fouling team a passback is a passback, apparetly it was judged as not a foul because the keeper didn;t kick it.. then let him kick it anyway.

Another dubious decision was where the striker was fouled in the middle of the park but stayed on his feet, which would've led to a 40 yard run and a 1-on-1 with their keeper. Ref doesn't play advantage, instead blows for a free kick on the half way line! Raging.

Now the frustration is out my system I'll concede that was the case, doesn't excuse the lack of chances made by Hibs though!

I am worried that the first seriously dirty hacking canutes we play (most likely Hearts) will probably use the age-old flair footballing tactic: 'cripple their striker and they're goosed for attacking options' we still need a couple of strikers, a creative midfielder, a back-up centre half and a right back in 4-5 weeks of remaining transfer window.

There were flashes of brilliance from a few players, but still a completely disjointed team. The real acid test will come when we play Inverness on saturday..

A COMEDY OF ERRORS

I thought that Chelsea were well placed with goalkeepers already, then they went on to sign Thibaut Courtois (only just 19 years old) from Genk, even though he had signed a contract with Genk until June 2014. He had said, in an interview recently in a Brussels sports web :-
"No matter what may be said to happen, it will not happen now and as far as I am concerned, I will be wearing the jersey of Genk next season. If anything would happen after that, it will be in four or five years time"

Thibaut Courtois must have regretted making that statement and since signing a five-year contract with Chelsea, he must now wonder what is happening to his move to Chelsea, as he has been immediately loaned out to Atletico Madrid by Chelsea.

Two games here in Hong Kong today which may (or may not ) be of interest.

The final of the Barclays Asia Trophy sees Chelsea take on Aston Villa and the third place play off sees local team Kitchee face Blackburn Rovers.

I think the Chelsea / Villa game is on Sky Sports early afternoon UK time.

The games are scheduled for 6pm local (11am BST) for the 3rd place play off and 8:30pm local (1:30pm BST) for the final.

They are expecting around 40,000 today so the atmosphere should be good.

The Pink Beast Shelter has done it again! Just when some modicum of stability is showing, Mad Vlad pulls a stunt like this. Fat Jim has rumouredly been offered a Director of Football role, Billy Brown has been emptied altogether, and Gary Locke has apparently been offered the manager/fax reader job.

On top of all that, the shamed sex pest has been farmed out to Vlad's other club FBK Kaunas in Lithuania, rather than being completely removed from the club as has been demanded by children's charities, parents and fans alike - sent on loan, but with wages still being paid by Hearts. Oh dear.

Edinburgh's apparent 400,000 strong army of loyal Hearts supporters (according to Vlad that is. actual population of Edinburgh: 447,000) must be livid at today's developments

My memory fails me - was the season where Hearts looked champion material before or after the takeover? If it was before, he should have left them alone, they were very, very good that season, now they are just full of Eastern Europeans.

I think he had taken them over, Burley was in charge for half of the season if I remember correctly, and the first signs of Romanovs interference were coming to light.

Season 05/06 was where Hearts split the old firm i think. I think it was the first full season under Vlad's ownership. Part way through 06/07 season, three of their key players rebelled and were emptied, and their manager (George Burley) resigned/was sacked, and replaced by Graham Rix briefly.

After Vlad's arrival, a shipload of long-surnamed Lithuanians of questionable quality were brought in (first team squad reached 45 at one point I think!) all earning a stupid amount of money, cancelling out many times over any gains made by finishing second for one season.

TBF to them, the number of eastern europeans has fallen in the last couple of years, few scottish youngsters coming through and the occasional 1st division superstar.
