Hat's off - probably literally in this wind - to any fan going to non-league grounds with little shelter this afternoon; Bury fans have to enjoy a trip to Lower Breck which probably has cover for about 100, the rest standing against the elements; pity because Lower Breck may well get a lower attendance than anticipated meaning less income. Notice at many grounds if you stand under cover you stay dry but can see little die to those standing in front!! Yes, Euxton, your standing area is set back and not terraced!!! Nice little seated stand behind the goal though.

Horwich RMI's old ground, Grundy Hill, was so sloped diagonally that it DID have it's own micro-climate, with one corner being 9' higher then the opposite diagonally. When the mist came down (or up!) you could tell the slope! Not sure if this bit is correct, if you placed the ball for a corner it was actually higher than the crossbar? Don't think the pitch would be allowed these days, Hallam must be the most slopey NL ground?

Clitheroe is a bit like that. If you take a corner in the top end your head is above the crossbar

I always thought that team was called Manchester Siddy, after listening to some of their supporters over the years.

Many years ago, the supporters of the team playing in sky blue shirts had a song saying how good they were, which a wag from t'other side changed so it went....

Boston 3 Braintree 1 First home win since March! New manager in place (Graham Coughlon). So many games this season we have been "unlucky" today all the luck went our way. Highlights are well worth a watch especially the second goal, one of the funniest goals ive ever seen.

That was truly awful goalkeeping, but you probably deserve a bit of luck.

One of my reasons for not setting out for Cleethorpes on the 0814 from LTT was not wanting to spend Saturday afternoon at a cold, rainy windswept ground with very little cover (plus the risk of a likely postponement at the 10 am inspection and/or rail disruption)

Of course, that's surely what you'd expect?

To be fair, a better comparison might be to look at the percentage of postponements of games scheduled to be held in the area impacted by the bad weather.

(And sometimes you get weather related postponements because its unsafe outside the ground whilst the pitch is playable)

If Wout Faes had cleared the ball in the first place instead of playing head tennis with Nicolas Jackson near him preventing him scoring Leicester would have got a draw & Steve Cooper would still be in a job.

It was going to be tough for him to win over the supporters given his success with Nottingham Forest.

Games are always off this time of year. Sometimes conveniently off, sometimes inconveniently off! it is amazing how often grounds are frozen when one team or both has 6 players out injured. I am sure it is just a coincidence.

same as when Darlo were in the lower glue league. Hopefully Bury fans weren't ripped off like we were at times in that league with sudden gate price rises - we boycotted a couple of games because of that kind of behaviour. Of course a few dullards still had to attend!

Yeah that happened to us too. I remember one - Wakefield?? - with the “proper” prices still displayed but us being charged more.

But yeah, there are some fans that like to get the red pen out regardless of cost

Last Saturday's match between Hyde United v Whitby Town was also called off with enough notice to save the opposing team and its supporters from making a very long journey which would have been adversely affected in the travel to the matc, the weather being what it was.

Yeah he seemed a really nice bloke when he was at Halifax, and then weirdly I saw him playing in a charity match at Bedale a couple of years ago and he made time for a decent chat afterwards

Mickleover FC 2 ... Macclesfield Town 1

The Tuesday night match saw the shock result many had forecasted was coming, as Macclesfield lost their first league match this season to a team who are 15th in the league. In front of a crowd of 725 at the Don Arnott stadium, Mickleover took the lead in the 13th minute. Mickleover increased their lead in the 54th minute, with Macclesfield scoring their solitary goal in the 57th minue.

Meanwhile in the championship Norwich City had an easy 6-1 win, to end a 7 game losing run, against Plymouth.
