This Tuesday night match consolidated Macclesfield's hold on the top spot of the league. From 11 games played, they have won 9 and drawn 2. Good attendance of 2,472 for a Tuesday night match.

People may not like the manager, but he is certainly getting good results.

It does help they have a massively inflated budget in comparison to a lot of other clubs. Sadly another example of zombie club spending lots of cash, seen it so many times over recent years. Danny Elliott going there is a prime example. I think even yourself would get a good run with that team!!

Farsley Celtic were not allowed to play their home match with Leamington at Bradford as Horsfall Stadium was deemed not to meet NLN grading requirements - despite Bradford having been in NLN for most of the last 12 years. They had to switch it to Alfreton. Throstle Nest is OOU while the Celts install a plastic pitch.

TNS's games in the UEFA Conference League group stage have had to be switched to Shrewsbury. This is despite Park Hall being used for earlier rounds for donkey's years and just having a new stand built. Park Hall also played host to a number of LoW clubs whose ground didn't meet UEFA requirements.

I suspect that the majority of ties in the earlier rounds of European competitions are switched to bigger stadia as club grounds in smaller countries tend to be very small.

What's happened at BPA? Always had plenty of battles with them over the years and always seemed a well run club?

Our lot (Hyde United) had the temerity to take the lead against them...on their home turf... and they only managed to equalise in a 1 - 1 draw in one of the early matches this season.

Plymouth lost again and continue their rapid decent to the relegation places. I wonder if their owners are regretting their decision to appoint Wayne Rooney?

I wonder if Wayne Rooney had heard of this posting, especially with one of the top flight relegated clubs visiting them on the Friday night match. You certainly motivated Plymouth.

The match was decided by a first-half hat-trick by an FC United striker (first name of Jordan) and whilst Hyde scored in both halves, FC United extracted full revenge for their defeat in the FA Cup qualifying round this season by Hyde.
As expected, FC United brought a good fan following to this Greater Manchester match, the attendance was 1,207. Hyde are on a bad run after a promising start when they topped the table and are now down to seventh place.

I have a spreadsheet that I update at the end of each season and (barring memory lapses) I've paid to watch league football at 156 different grounds, but only 51 of the current 92 grounds. As a long-suffering Halifax Town fan there are a lot of non-league grounds on my list, plus a number of former PL/EFL grounds

Yes, I completed it in the 1980s. I'm a bit behind now with 4 or 5* that I haven't visited. In total I've done around 150 quslifying grounds over the years.


*The number depends on the rules applied, and I note that the 92 Club rules are not as eclxacting as they used to be!

Also, I think there is some discussion buried deep within this thread, but for some strange reason, I can't be bothered to wade through the whole topic to find them.

Anyway. Scunthorpe United seem to be have a mini slump in form. Last week, they lost 1-0 away to Scarborough Athletic, and today, lost by the same scoreline away to Guiseley in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Cup.

With today being the Scottish Cup - 1st round, I was interested if any shock results surfaced. One game in particular featured Strathspey Thistle, the club in the Highland League who took over the mantle of Fort William as "no-hopers" when that team eventually vacated that league and are currently bottom of the league table. The draw had given them home advantage against Sauchie Juniors, who currently are in fourth place of the East of Scotland League..Premier Division. Therefore, I was not really surprised at the final score....

Probably the easiest match we'll play all season, Coventry could pass the ball but with zero intent and it could have been many more if not for their 'keeper. Nice to finally watch a comfortable game from Leeds.

A most definite shock result, as Radcliffe from Darlo's league had home advantage over a team from the North West Counties League...Premier Division. Attendance of 2,800 stated.

Get through the next 2 games vs Huddersfield (H) and Charlton (A) and I wouldn't bet against us to go unbeaten this season.

103 points is the current Lg1 record (106 EFL record - Reading) held by Wolves and as it stands if we drop 36 points this season i'll be disappointed. That's the equivalent of losing 6 and drawing 9 and I cannot see that happening, we are absolute levels above the rest of this league.

There will be tough days, and dreadful decisions by refs, through the season.
The main goal must be promotion, as champions will be even better.
It is good to see that the club are now in the top 10 of the entire EFL for attendence, something that is very rare for a league 1 side.

A full house every week massively increases the cash flow and helps the club for investment on & off the pitch.

So Liverpool are top of the League thus far. I do not think we can be above Man City and Arsenal in terms of odds to win it. As we did not sign anybody of note - injuries could cost us. However, top 4 is the goal and that will be tough with Chelsea, Villa and Spurs on good form. Could be an interesting season!

I would have enjoyed that more I think. Been to Gainsborough many times, Grantham less so. Lincs Senior Shield final last time I think. Competitive match 2000 when we sealed promotion ?
